There was a little trouble locating this place. The good news was that it was just off the interstate. The walk from the parking lot to the kitchen cabinet department was up an escalator, long and difficult for a physically challenged person. Because the signage is so bad, I had to ask 3 staff members along the way, in order to find the department I was suppose to be at. Dunia was great to work with, the reason I gave them the one star. She took time to walk us through the products we were interested in. After getting a layout and ready to buy (160+ pieces), I was told several different things. First, I couldn't take the order with me as they didn't stock it there. They couldn't deliver the order to my house as I was not in their system. I couldn't go to the warehouse to pick it up. So, I had to offer an alternate address, 15 miles away from my home, that they could deliver to. I will have to haul my own trailer to this location in order to offload and then deliver it to my house, only to handle it again to take it into my house. Oh, and we will change you $150 for this non delivery service. Second, you will need to get online and enter 8 product numbers we don't have right now. We can't sell them to you and we can't call you when they are available. You will have to continue checking until you can get them. I can't start the remodel without the critically needed piece, kitchen sink cabinet. Third, you need to go into the store to find this list of 5 items that you will pick up and purchase before you pick up the 7 items you can take with you today. There were no instructions on where to find these item, and that 3 of the 5 items are out of stock. I had to ask a stocking person where the items were, and she looked them up and was the one that shared that they were out of stock. The fourth and last item, you only have 48 hours from the time of deliver to make sure everything is there, I will check every time they deliver a product, check, double check, and triple check. I did that at the dock pickup of my 7 items. The product we purchased is exactly what we want. Really IKEA, you want customers to be...
Read moreNice store, so much to look at. We usually go to the Bolingbrook location, but switched it up this time. Unlike that store, it’s all on one level (no escalators/elevators). The store was clean, some of the floors definitely needed mopped, but it was a rainy day anyways. And a few of the displays were a little messy, but it was a busy day. Didn’t really see a lot of employees around though. We did find a jar of lingonberry jam in the jar opener section, with one attached to it. We thought maybe it was fake until we opened it and saw it was moldy… lol yikes. We stopped at the cafeteria for food, of course. The tables and floors were nice and clean, it was easy to find somewhere to sit. They were busy throughout the store, but the restaurant was pretty empty at 5:30 pm on a Saturday. We only had 1 person in front of us in line. They were out of forks though. The food servers were very quick and efficient. And the cashier (Phil) was so friendly and nice. And offered to find us some silverware (Thank you! I really appreciated that). The food was pretty good. They unfortunately only had a couple slices of apple cake (the cake case was practically empty), and some of the meatballs were overcooked and hard. Also the lemon sparkling water must’ve had a problem with the flavoring, because it was just plain carbonated water. But overall it was decent food. The desserts were actually very good too. It was $30 for two meatball meals, a garlic toast, a slice of cake, 2 small pastries, and a refillable drink. Before we left we got some frozen yogurt (?) but unfortunately they didn’t have vanilla, so we had the strawberry. Very, very sweet and a little sour. Like sherbet/sorbet. It was okay. We ended up looking around/eating for about 3 hrs. And spent around $150 on misc. stuff, $350 on a furniture pickup order, and then the $33 on food. Definitely plan on a long trip and have a good amount of $$ to spend. Overall, nice store and experience. Not perfect, of course, but we...
Read moreI gave IKEA 4 Stars for a couple of reasons. Not handicap friendly if you need a riding cart to get around....they don't have them. But for those individuals where walking long distances is not an issue you can get your walking in for the day. I do want to say this place is absolutely amazing!!! When it comes to room designs ,they have a lot of variety. From different styles, tastes, and budgets. Looking for ideas, you can mix and match, build and design your own rooms. They have everything for every room in the house. Need glasses or silverware, new handles and knobs for your kitchen, no problem. Looking at bathrooms, dinning rooms, studio apparments, huge houses, they have you covered there as well. They even had adorable stuffed animals. They were smart and have a cafeteria about half way in as well as restrooms. I didn't eat there so i don't know the quality of the food. You will want to have a lot of time on your hands. This is not a "quick trip" store. Make sure you follow the arrows on the floor. Look up for signs to figure out where you are at. The overhead signs do NOT give you an accurate layout as they show straight lines, not the actual arrow directional winding floor plan that they have you walking. Over all a great experience. But please be aware of my 2 big issues. No handicap rider carts for those who unfortunately can not do the very long walking this place requires. My other big issue is that there are not a lot of short cuts. Which could be very helpful if you really just need to sit and rest your feet or leave the store quickly. They do have a lot of exit signs but they are very confusing to know where they are leading you. Several lead to straight walls. If would be extremely confusing if you had to get out of...
