The Flagstaff location has the worst pizza and customer service I have ever experienced at any Papa John's. The pizzas we ordered were a mess, (like a child made them), missing several of the toppings, missing cheese in places, and only 3-4 slices of pepperoni on one, 5-6 on the other, and almost no sauce on either of them. They also didn't deliver the appetizer we paid for. When I talked to the manager, Brendan/Brendon, he was rude, and asked, "what do want me to do about it?" I nicely told him I thought they should replace the order and they could come pick up the pizzas, (that we hadn't touched at all), and they could send our appetizer or refund it because it had already been 40 minutes and people started snacking on other stuff. He refused to do anything, and wanted to argue about how great the pizza actually was, and how that they made the pizzas to perfection. Our family has loved Papa John's, but from now on we'll be ordering from somewhere else. I've talked to Papa John's main customer service on several occasions since with no results. They defer to the local restaurant and the regional manager. Nothing has happened after several months. In the time we've lived here we've had to order hundreds of pizzas, usually 2 pizzas once a week for several years, so I'm sorry to leave, but they screw up more pizzas than any other place I've seen, at double the rate. If they had taken care of it I wouldn't have cared, but people need to know, so If your from out of town and wondering why the low ratings, try somewhere else. Oregano's, Fratelli's...
Read moreHonestly I have no complaints what so ever. In fact I would seriously like you to know they have become very good. A while back they were slipping. I have recently decided to give them a chance and there dough is much better the crust is being made properly. I mean I got crust that I can hold on to. It thick yet not to dense still not airy but he. Cheese is becoming a golden brown more frequently. Sauce is nice and thick just the way it should be. Their brownies are cooked evenly and tend to be a bit wetter then it should but not always. Delivery drivers are very friendly and very fast never awkward. The crew all around is nice most tend not to approach the customers and leave that to front end. Cozy atmosphere and plenty of parking. Though getting into the parking lot is a different story. Wings are usually done slightly extra crispy but but sometimes come out extra well done. It depends how busy remember more in the over the less heat applied. All in all...
Read moreI was boycotting them because of Papa John's terrible remarks, but once they disavowed him and booted him out, I promised a sales rep on Twitter that I would end my boycott. So I did.
The pizza was great, as usual, but after not having had it for a long time I just realized how much of junk food it is. This is not of course unique to Papa Johns, it's all the big pizza chains, but some local pizzerias will offer no cheese, less cheese, or substitute cheeses. Which, while not as tasty, leaves one feeling a bit less regretful afterwards!
Perhaps at this juncture, it would be best to offer a healthy, or at least a less unhealthy, alternative which still tastes great. As many of us get older and have to do things such as need to watch calorie and cholesterol intake, it could be a way to keep people engaged with the brand.
Just my suggestion, but I do approve of how Papa Johns has handled the PR crisis and continues to...
