Ive resisted leaving a negative review for awhile, but this truly is the worst coffee shop Ive been to. Ever. And I've hung in there for awhile, returning, but cannot any longer. This is the SLOWEST cofee joint in Flag (and half the time--as other reviewers have commented--you get someone who has no clue). For example, with the mic system they use, the outdoor barista at times, has no idea that they cannot hear he rinside, and you wait a total of nearly a half hour!!! to get a burrito and coffee). Yep, this actually happened with NO other customers present.) I had to go inside to find it out. And still, I did not leave a negative review. I set it aside. But one too many suprememly long waits (and freezing) and then gross hardened eggs in the last burrito, and this customer now gives my business fully to the coffee shop Flagstaff knows as ITS OWN and has successfully been for years.
First, it's freezing in there. EMPLOYEES CONFIRMED (disregard the owners comment. My info came straight from several employees working one day and I confirmed it another time as well!) I was told the owners actually mandate that the employees leave the door/garage!!! open all winter, so that people know they are open. Wow! Really? So no cares for those who come in and order coffee hoping to warm up...and what comes out is a "mocha" with powdered cocoa as the chocolate portion and no whip cream-- as every coffee place in Flag has?) Hmmmmm. No good.
However, the time is lengthy, parking/mobility issues are the absolute worst aspect of it all. Have you tried getting in and out of this place? You have to go way out of your way to turn around to exit and/or enter. It is beyond a hassle! Not worth it.
For all this, their prices are WAY overpriced. Short cuts galore here.
This is a small town, and great coffee shops THAT LAST genuinely care about their employees and customer base. Not their own wallets first.
My own experience absolutely freezing in there, and seeing their employees with hands so cold they have to ask me to help them,...that is cruelty just so they can appear opened? Ever thought of a bigger sign or advertising as most businesses employ? Employees, as well as customers, should be appreciated and cherished. This is not that.
Not to mention, IMAGINE all the energy they are wasting here.
My advice to the owners: stay in Phoenix. Your business model will fit in way better. Update: Additionally, the owner accuses a (previous) customer --who was quite informed-- of ignorance. Either she is a down right liar or several of your quite honest seeming employees were. I do not need to meet you to know which it is. Oh, and FYI, Ms: I did speak with you on the phone and you were even more defensive there. Recall I hung up and happily took my business elsewhere? Like readers here, I value being appreciated and my spent dollars supporting caring and...
Read moreOur trip here was almost comical. The parking is terrible for starters. When we got inside we waited for approximately 3 or 4 minutes before they said they’re busy and catching up on drinks. We waited patiently for another 5 minutes before they finally took our order. They didn’t have the one drink we stopped here for so we just ordered an Arnold Palmer. We waited for another 10 minutes watching them make multiple other coffee drinks for people that came in after us. I reminded them we were just waiting for an ice tea, now having been here for about 20 mins. She said they’re busy making drinks and she would do her best. We waited another couple minutes before she walked back and realized some rose flavored ice tea had just been sitting on the counter for awhile. She poured that into a cup and went looking for lemonade. Eventually she came back in and said “we don’t have lemonade so, raspberry tea!” And borderline slammed the watered down tea on the counter. We said we’d just like our money back and she got frustrated and then asked if we remembered how much we paid. We didn’t get a receipt so she just gave us $5.10, 5.86 was our total. So we paid this place .76 cents to sit in their hot dining room for 30ish minutes. To top it all off, the girl making the drinks was wearing a dirty sleeveless shirt with her hairy sweaty arm pits open to the air as she’s reaching over the counter where the drinks are made. Please dress appropriately if you are working in food service. That’s unhygienic. Also they were out of dog treats, so even my dog was...
Read moreI really wanted to like this place, but overall, it was a disappointing experience. The lattes was mediocre—not bad, but nothing special. On top of that, they charged me an extra $1 for syrup when all I ordered was a latte with whole milk, no extras. I didn’t realize the overcharge until we were already on our way home.
The biggest issue, though, was the lids. They wouldn’t stay on securely, and even a slight squeeze—just enough to pick up the cup—would cause the lid to pop off. My husband grabbed his latte from the cup holder, and the lid came off, spilling over half of his latte all over our car. He wasn’t holding it by the lid, just the cup itself. After that, I didn’t want to take the chance of my lid popping off and making an even bigger mess, so we ended up throwing both lattes away. We had only taken a couple of sips, so it was a complete waste of money.
To top it off, the staff wasn’t very friendly. We’ve had great experiences here in the past when visiting Flagstaff, so it’s really disappointing that this time around wasn’t the same. If we weren’t already on our way home to Tucson, we would have gone back to address the issue. Unfortunately, with the mediocre lattes, unexpected charge, unfriendly service, and lid disaster, we won’t...
