Β Β Β Read moreI was a bridesmaid in a wedding about a year ago, and went with the bride to I Do I Do to look for a wedding dress for her. When we entered, a woman that we assumed was a manager or owner greeted us, and instructed us to go upstairs to look through their wedding dresses. She did not escort us, nor did she offer any help in selecting or trying on dresses. We headed upstairs to a dimly lit hallway, where we found multiple rooms full of dresses. As we looked through the dresses, other employees silently crept into the room to watch us. When we would try to ask them questions, they would shake their head 'no', as if to say that they could not speak to us. VERY CREEPY. I'm not at all surprised that they were found guilty of human trafficking-- these women watching us did not seem like friendly, happy employees.
Eventually, the first woman we spoke to, (we guessed the manager or owner), came upstairs to talk to us. She scolded the bride for trying on dresses "without permission", explaining that the bride could only try on dresses if she intended to buy that day. During this scolding session, she asked me, the bridesmaid, over and over if I wanted to buy a dress as well. I repeatedly told her no, and once she even mentioned that it was "good" I wasn't shopping there, because I'm too big for all of her dresses. So rude and totally unnecessary. We were ignored, spied on, insulted, and scolded....

She did however go to the back of the store and get the most beautiful wedding dress that fit me perfectly. She again told me to hurry up and get out of it before I sweat in it. Then she asked if I was going to buy the dress. I tried to explain to her I had just started to look for dresses and didn't want to necessarily buy the first one I tried on. My future mother in law asked if I could try on another dress. The women said and I quote " Why? You're not going to buy it?" We were stunned! She then proceeded to tell us to go to Phoenix to find a dress. I loved, loved, I mean truly loved that dress. It's unfortunate the saleswoman had to act as if I couldn't afford this dress or as if it was somehow rude of me to want to try on many wedding dresses. All I could think was she was in desperate need of a sale. Well I didn't buy the dress and I am going to Phoenix to look for one so she got her wish. Someone needs to open a wedding boutique here so I do, I do has...
