Flagstaff CSA & Local Market — Local services in Flagstaff

Ok, I'm going to split this into 2 parts. I normally LOVE these kind of places, and spend a lot of time and money when I travel to go out of my way and support them. Part 1: produce and eggs - 5 stars. Literally. Local, fresh, priced kinda high but whatever, support local ag. Eggs are delish, carrots, squash, etc. A true hit. Keep it up. Part 2 - stuff in bags. Part of the reason I'm writing this is discovering that they sell Lunden's (big store brand) rice in their own brown stamped paper bags for roughly triple the price you can buy it at other stores. One could make the argument that the consumer (i.e. this clown writing the review) should be more careful about reading labels. One could also make the argument that the "CSA" sign on the front of the building might lead one to believe they are paying a premium price to support local agriculture, rather than paying $15/lb for some repackaged rice from a distributor 500+ miles away which you can literally buy at whole foods for less than half that. I'll let you draw your own conclusions. Part 3: The people here are super nice, and seem to be keen to do the right thing. So maybe this is a one-off, and I'm being absurd, but it definitely annoyed me. I'll be back for sure, but I will not be buying anything in a bag without reading...

I love the Flagstaff CSA! I am a part of the CSA subscription program every other week, and I look forward to it every time. I love having so many local fresh produce options, that you can change an item out if you don’t care for it all on the website, and just how delicious everything is! The owner is so very kind, knowledgeable and is so easy to work with. One time there was a small error with my order and she instantly refunded me, I mentioned to her I had gotten married that week in a conversation, and she gave me a complimentary bouquet! They are so awesome, I am grateful to have such an amazing option for local healthy food in Flagstaff! I’ve been a member of this CSA for over 10 years, and it continues to be one of the best decisions I’ve made for my family. The produce is always fresh, seasonal, and full of flavor-you can truly taste the difference. Beyond the amazing quality, I appreciate the care and dedication of the farmers and the sense of connection to our local food system. I'm so grateful they are a part of our community....
