We were a party of 6, we were seated immediately at 7:30 pm when we arrived. We ordered the Brussel sprout appetizer and the elite appetizer. They were both very good and came out hot and quickly. We also ordered cocktails and had to let the server know that we ordered a type of scotch and on the rocks means more than a cube of ice . We then ordered our entrees the portabella burger, a BBQ chicken pizza, and two 12 ounce ribeye steaks medium rare. The steaks came out charred black on one side and very well done, and side of vegetables were very under cooked. We each ate about 2 ounces of the steak when we determined the meal was not salvageable. We spoke to the manager, and she offered another side of the vegetables for one of us, and said she would discount the steak. She could have offered to cook us to fresh steaks properly this time, however, she was very defensive. The single side of vegetables came out and were properly steamed this time, and instead of offering the additional steak she offered to desserts. Nothing like having your mashed potatoes with a side of ice cream. The steaks overall did not seem like they were 12 ounce steaks as they were about a half inch thick and the size of a standard ribeye . We were all in from out of town staying the night in Flagstaff, and this restaurant was recommended to us. I will make sure I review on Yelp to reflect our experience and will inform the person referring us of our experience as well. We didn’t need the discount on the steaks we needed our meal to be cooked properly, the cook gets an F on Grilling skills and vegetable blanching, and the B+ on his treatment of the pizza and the portabello sandwich. The manager gets a D for her defensiveness and inability to find a better solution than giving us a discount for poorly prepared food. I am certain the owners of this restaurant would have been mortified by the appearance of the food presented to us and the incredibly poor...
Read moreUpon arriving there was a 35 minute wait at about 130 to 2. Not much shade provided outside. We had to wait in an empty parking lot blocked off with tape and some bar height tables no chairs. We finally got called in and were seated at a table outside in the dirt. Was okay but we were just told what table to look for and not actually taken there. We were a party of 4 all looking to pay separate. We were told we had to order our food on our phones. One of us didn't have a phone so she had to go in. We were forced to pay as one because they said if we ordered separate we wouldn't get our food at once. We said our friend didn't have a phone and the waitress said well I don't know what you can do other than go to the bar to order. I like sides of ranch with my pizza and salad. There was an option to get an extra ranch but nowhere to get more. If I wanted more I needed to go on my phone and use my credit card to buy 1 side of ranch. It was complicated to even find how to order drinks. You have this small can to flip on red or green if you needed anything. I get safety of guests and workers but you shouldn't neglect guests who can't use the way you are forcing everyone to do with no other options. I ordered a pizza which was good but the service killed the rating for me. Service is just as important and we had to do everything ourselves while every other restaurant in Flagstaff provided the best personal safe service. This place just said here you go figure it out yourselves and that was the same attitude that was given to us. I would have gone to little Caesars over this place if I would have known what we were getting into. Wont be returning after that and will also no recommend it to clients who travel through Flagstaff. 2 stars because the pizza at...
Read moreBSB was recommended, and a couple of our group had been before. The atmosphere was fun, though surprisingly vacant for a Saturday in Flagstaff (and a game day, at that!) Tables were comfortable and there were indoor and outdoor options.
Most everyone's food was good, with generous portions, and there was a variety to choose from. Some had burgers; I shared the Prosciutto/Pear Pizza (delicious!!) and had a side Caesar Salad (huge for $6, but served on a small plate rather than a bowl; even when someone asked for a bowl so they could portion out for taking home, we got...another small plate - a little odd and messy.) Someone ordered grilled chicken as an add-on to salad, and it was barely warm, much less "grilled." The chili was okay, but the cornbread was bland and a little undercooked. But most everyone else was happy with their choices.
The only suggestion we'd like to make is to add more servers. Granted, we had a group of 12, seated at 2 tables, on a Saturday, but were assigned only one server, for the most part. (We called ahead, but there were no reservations; had to appear in person. Fortunately they seated part of us and started taking orders.) Another server helped at the 2nd table occasionally, and our servers did a great job, but they were overburdened. They also had to run beverages and orders for other tables; thus my mark for service. On a Saturday, in Flag...you need more wait staff! Customers shouldn't sit with empty (yes, truly empty) glasses, or have to wave servers down when we were seated within plain view of the kitchen/pick-up counter, hostess, and bar. They did provide a Chocolate Bread Pudding for our "Birthday Girl." While delicious, it was more like a "lava cake" than bread pudding.
Will definitely give Beaver Street...
