To start, this is a nice property and the rooms are spacious. However, if you have an issue or in my case issues and nicely bring it to the attention of management they could care less!
For one, the mobile app wasn’t working, not allowing me to check in or request a key. When I brought this to the front desk agents attention, he looked at my app and too was unable to figure out why it wasn’t working and physically checked me in and provided keys.
Second, no one was at the front desk, I had to walk around and found someone who explained that he was in fact working the front desk, but they were short staffed, only two employees at 96% occupancy.
Third, I used the washer and dryer on my floor and it was the worst experience! I only did ONE load, started at 10pm and didn’t finish til around 1:30am!!! The washer when it was “finished” left my clothes SOAKING. Either the washer sucks or it skipped the spin cycle. Then, because the clothes were soaked, I had to use the dryer FOUR TIMES!
Fourth, the rooms coffee maker wasn’t not given attention, as the previous guests coffee was left.
Fifth, at no fault of the staff but nonetheless an issue, I was woken up by my neighbors who I could hear sneezing and talking! It’s apparent these walls are not well insulated.
After speaking to management and letting them know what happened, I was simply told “I’m sorry.” You might as well haven’t said anything at all, as it would have the same affect! If an issue ever occurs at a stay, I’ve always made sure not to take it out on the staff and speak in a calm demeanor but apparently that was not appreciated. Maybe if I would have raised my voice and been demeaning I would have been listened to and the manager would have done something to try and rectify the situation! It seems the manager is new to the position as customer resolution/satisfaction seems to be lacking greatly!
I’ve been traveling for three weeks and the last thing myself or any guest should have to deal with is issues such as I had. Immediately after my phone call with management, I called customer service and filed a case, as I was appalled at the lack of customer service! Do...
Read moreNewish Hyatt so room was clean and fresh. Breakfast was very average. Property is not downtown. Maybe 15 minutes walking. Parking is nuts in flagstaff- confusing its pay to park on every street. I couldn’t understand why this Hyatt had negative reviews on Google but I took my chances, and have decided maybe it’s the nickel and dime mentality of management and unresponsiveness. They charge $8 + tax per night for parking, not a busy parking lot or even a downtown location so a bit odd for a Hyatt place - they give you a hang tag with check out date. Here is where it gets weird - arrived just after 1pm and was told my assigned Room is indeed ready, place was not busy, but I couldn’t check in as there is a $25 early check in fee. Really! Early check in per Hyatt corporate is 9am until 12 noon.I had just drove 6 hours so sitting waiting in the lobby for 90 minutes didn’t feel like a good time. I wasn’t gonna pay an early check in fee either. I took a walk. I’m a Hyatt explorist so this was just not cool. This is just poor customer service. I’d understand if they were busy and if the room wasn’t ready. But it was ready.
The early check in fee is inconsistent with Hyatt member benefits which are in print and easy to locate, so I did ask the front desk about this- they said everyone pays $25 even all Hyatt members so I was thinking they were not well trained so I emailed the assistant manager. That was not helpful as I got a generic “yes we charge $25”. My hyatt globalist friend asked me to confirm if globalist also pay this fee - so I did ask that question in my email but it was never answered or addressed. If you are a Hyatt member do not expect any special treatment, acknowledgement or your entitlements, they do not even offer up the free water that’s included or any of the member benefit such as late check out etc. The rooms are noisy & I couldn’t sleep, doors banging all hours, foot steps, thin walls etc. bring your ear plugs. Also bathroom door is glass as is the shower so you will get no privacy if you are sharing a room. Disappointed with this place so much potential but and I won’t...
Read moreSadly, my experience at this hotel was pretty much identical to all the other negative reviews posted here. It’s clear with management’s AI generated responses that they actually aren’t reading any of the reviews or putting anything in place to make the experience better. I’m a long time Hyatt Globalist but would rather sleep in my car instead of staying at this hotel again.
Check in is at 3 but the room wasn’t ready until 6. We got to the room and it was dirty. It’s clear that they only changed the sheets on the bed, emptied the trash, and changed the towels. There were chips scattered on the floor, the floors were sticky, dried coffee stains on the cabinet tops, and a blue substance pilled all over the top of the toilet. The sheets on the sofa bed looked like they weren’t replaced and the bag in the closet that was supposed to have a blanket and pillows for the sofa bed just had a pillow case in it. No pillows or blankets. The AC unit let out a high pitch screeching sound so we weren’t able to get any sleep throughout the night. This was further exasperated by the fact that this hotel has absolutely no soundproofing so we could hear every single conversation from the rooms around us and constant foot prints and kids running around in the room above us.
Breakfast was from 7-10am but when we arrived at 8:30am, most of the items were out of stock and they didn’t replenish them in the whole 40 minutes we were down there. Keep in mind, they charge $8 per person for this breakfast that was 75% empty. Luckily this fee was waived because of my status, but still it’s pretty pathetic.
This hotel has a great location and Brooklyn at the front desk was super friendly and apologetic for the room issues. However, it’s too bad that management doesn’t care enough to actually read the reviews, respond to them, and come up with an action plan on how to address the repeated issues. They’ve been open for almost 2 years and it’s clear this property isn’t well maintained. Wouldn’t be surprised if they get de-flagged by Hyatt in the next few years if...
