Telly's Coney Island — Restaurant in Flint Charter Township

Telly's used to be my go to coney. Not anymore. Last 2 times, food quality way lower. So this time for coneys and fries with gravy to go. Gravy is so watered down , it pours like water and does not have much more flavor than that. Did not even use. And the coneys we got the Detroit/Flint combo. What a disappointment. These used to be awesome full of flavor. But again the Detroit Coney sauce/chili, is so watered down there is hardly any flavor. I might give them oneore shot but 3 strikes and your out. And the last time we ate in , the menu had several items in the menu just blacked out with a marker, like the things that come with a meal no longer come with the meal. It is sad The original owners of Tellys did a great job, but the new owners seam to think cutting cost and cutting quality will work. You might save money on each item you sell, but people will stop coming, and then you will really have to...

I had heard many mixed opinions on this place of dining prior to my arrival; being an independent thinker I went for myself. I wasn't expecting anything fancy but at least some pleasant staff would have made up for the low quality food ingredients. Having parents that ran a coney island style restuarant, I know the difference between getting decent quality ingredients versus the cheapest available option. Regardless of how great the cook is, cheap food tastes bad. Still, half of it is the attitude from the staff and when the manager has a bad attitude, then obviously all the servers are gonna be having bad days which in turn makes for a poor customer experience. Seems like most problems could be solved with better choice in management and cooking ingredients from whomever...

My husband an I use to go almost every other day for breakfast. The young girl that is the manager is very unprofessional, an rude. We ordered breakfast special an when they delivered to table, putting them down, then instantly grabbed my breakfast an walked away with my breakfast. Came back to the table an said I had to take your food , you had too many pieces of bacon, which is not acceptable. So taking my breakfast away not sure what she did or how she took the extra bacon off my plate. Not acceptable, if the 2 pieces of bacon was that important to your business so sorry for you. She was rude . We never had a problem before but I find it disgusting that she walked away with my food out of my site.. I'm sure health department would not find that...
