Phenomenal!!!!!!!!!! A+++
We have been going to this Logan's since they opened their doors, and for many, many years, they were my favorite restaurant. Over the past 5-10 years, it seems as though they had severely deteriorated in everything from food quality to service (at one point I could honestly see them having to shut the doors if something didn't improve). I was heartbroken and in search of a new favorite restaurant. We stopped going to Logan's for the most part until December 28, 2023.
I was taking my ex-husband out to eat for his birthday after driving home from working in Kentucky that day. He wanted catfish, but all the good catfish restaurants were going to be within 45 minutes of closing upon our arrival at any of them, and we don't want to go in at the last minute. We drove around town, and every place was packed out from Buffalo Wild Wings to Outback and probably 10-15 other restaurants around town. We decided after about 30 minutes to an hour of driving around, to go to Logan's. He said, "It's better than nothing, right?". I agreed.
We sat up at a booth by the bar and ordered loaded tater skins for an appetizer. The waitress came back and said that they were out. We waited on the fresh, hot yeast rolls, and when she brought them out, they had not "proofed" correctly and were small and hard. Our expectations were low when we came in, so we just kind of shrugged it off and laughed about it.
We each ordered the 16oz ribeye with baked potato. When they brought them out, they looked gloriously mouth watering. We could have probably cut them with a butter knife. They were so tender and juicy and perfectly grilled. They were the most delicious steaks that I have tasted in a decade (I am not exaggerating, and I have eaten a LOT of steak in the last decade). A man named Dennis was the one that we found out was the grill master that created these mouth-watering delights. If you go for steak, I would call first and ask if he is working.
Our waitress was fantastic!!! My ex-husband was super thirsty when we arrived and polished off his first glass of sweet tea within a couple of moments of our arrival. Our waitress had his glass refilled before it was empty, and the next two or three glasses went the same way. She was super sweet, attentive, courteous, responsive, and took care of each and every customer like they were her only one and most important. I didn't find out until we were almost finished with our meal that she was 5 months pregnant. I remember being pregnant, and she had to have been dead on her feet, but she had a smile on her face that lit up the room, and I would have never known. I don't know how she did it, but she was incredible!!!
We called the manager over before we left and let her know how much they had made our night, and how impressed we were with the service and quality of the steak and baked potatoes (the potatoes would melt and your mouth and had a wonderful taste too). We let Dennis know how much we enjoyed his perfectly crafted steaks. We let our waitress know how much we appreciated her and the incredible job that she did.
P.S. The prep staff is new and learning with the rolls, so I am sure that they will be their normal, delicious, mouth water quality in no time. We all had to learn how to do something or make something at one point in our lives or another... they will get there, I'm sure.
P.P.S. Sorry to say we did not take pictures of this delicious food, we just gave thanks for it and began relishing every...
Read moreI stay next door at the Holiday Inn Express and really enjoy the closeness of the restaurants in the immediate area. On Wednesday I ordered online their Grilled Pork Chops and "creamy mashed potatoes" what I received was grilled pork chops and a potato ball. It was incredibly dry, and in order to eat it, I was able to get some butter from the hotel. This is all after the online ap said my dinner will be ready for pick up at 7:55. I arrived at 7:50 and waited for about 10 minutes before the young lady sweeping the peanuts off the floor was able to get a young man to assist me. After the gentleman looked in a few different places he went to the POS "point of sale" terminal and pushed a few buttons and then retrieved a piece of paper and disappears into the kitchen. Then moments later approached me and said its going to be a bit. By now its 8:15. I get my food and return to my hotel, across the street and open my food container to see the dry potato ball and pork chops. So not wanting to be disappointed twice, I went back there Wednesday night, at 7:50. Sat at the bar, waited....... then was approached and asked what beverage, Coors Light I said... it appeared and then I sat again for about 15 minutes trying to get the bartenders attention to ask for a menu. Finally I catch her walking by and she gives me a menue then gone. She returns sometime later, "look at the video if you're the store reading this" and brings hot bread and butter. But nothing else.... I wait... "more video to watch" then as she walks around, I was able to ask for silverware to use to prepare the bread I was hoping to enjoy warm. Now that I have silverware and my beer is cold, she takes the order. I order the Delmonico steak and question her about the "creamy mashed potatoes" and explain yesterday's issue, she replied yes, someone else mentioned that. So I ordered my steak Medium. It arrived very quickly. But they're professionals back there!! 1st few bites were great as she checked on me. Then it goes from medium to raw. Not rare, but raw! I sit and wait... wait... finally I get her attention "video will show" and I casually and quietly explain, she sees it and apologizes to me. I remind her of the issue yesterday and just said I'm very unhappy with my meal. She offers to put it back on the grill, by now, I'm over it. I get my bill and she discounts 25%. I didn't want to cause a seen, but I'm more then willing and happy to pay for the one beer, two rolls, salad and the creamy mashed potatoes I ate but I don't think its fair to pay for a steak, supposed to be the best, severely under cooked. Let's keep customers happy, getting what they order. After all, it's a restaurant where patrons come in and pick from their menu that the restaurant decides what to offer, train the professional representatives in the back to provide a meal that best represents their brand. They failed. I hope they try and...
Read moreOur group had a previous visit in which the restaurant was out of couple of the things they ordered. Service was good and the food was not as good as it had been but tolerable. We were willing to give them the benefit of the doubt due to we know the inconsistent workforce people are dealing with now. This time however, they were out of several things. Portions were small. Our ribeye steaks were maybe 3/8 inch, dry, overcooked, tasteless and imo weren't ribeyes. They forgot my son's shrimp. One ladies' mac and cheese was cold and her chicken was inedible. Many peoples' potatoes were cold and fries were just warm and looked old. One man ordered the ribeye sandwich. The meat was almost beef jerky, there was one piece of lettuce, the bread was dry and tough and there were no condiments on it at all. Employees were seen vaping in an area of the kitchen. It took an hour and a half from the time we sat down until we had food. Manager was approached and he did all he could to avoid us. We had customers asking us how long we had been there. Several others got up and walked out. There was no attempt to discount anyone's meal. We felt sorry for the server. You could tell she had been having it rough. We know it wasn't her fault and we do not blame the servers or make scenes like many do. She was very polite and apologetic, did her job well, was attentive and really took care of us. We all tipped her well, even one in our group who was not eating, just visiting, tipped her. He used to be in the food service industry. The rolls and cinnamon butter were still hot and scrumptious. She told us there was only one person on the grill and he was the worst one they had. When a restaurant gets this bad, the training is inadequate, food supplies are consistenly lacking and staff are behaving unprofessionally as some were, this all goes back to management. This place at one time always had a wait. Now the parking lot is only 1/4 full. Shameful a place that used to be one of my favorites now has food that I took home to feed my dogs that cost just my four in the group of fourteen, $120. Our group goes somewhere every Sunday night and drops no less...
