Mongolian Grill & Buffet — Restaurant in Florence

My kids and I went to eat here Tuesday and we had only ate about 2 bites of food (thankfully) , when the waitress came to top off our drinks . I watched her pour a cockroach into my sons drink and thank goodness I was watching. I got up and carried the drink to the front and told them we were leaving , the waitress grabbed the roach out and said she could get me another drink . I said no we are not eating here . He said ok we will only charge you for one drink. I said no, we haven’t ate any food except maybe 2 bites , I’m not paying for food we did not eat and it has roaches . The waitress starting yelling in Chinese and they told me they would call the cops if we did not pay. I told them to go ahead and they did . I spoke with the police and they recommended to just pay half since my kids and I are standing out in the heat are this point and instead of filling out reports we could pay half and told me to call the health department and the Alabama BBB. I used to Love this place. If you can get there as soon as they put it out, it typically good. We got there around 5:30 on a Sunday. Unfortunately the food was barely warm after it had set out on the buffet. The soup wasn't even hot, just luke warm. The meat was hard and some bites were actually cold. They were not replacing items that were out even. The water tasted like either their filter or their ice machine needed a thorough cleaning. An adult bar was $15; had the food been good I could rationalize this, however, it was very disappointing. I will not return unless they start keeping the food to a safe temp. My daughter was sick to her stomach afterwards. I should have listened to the reviews floating around on Facebook, but we were craving it, so we thought. These people are abusing their fish. I pointed this out to the manager and he looked at me like I was stupid. The fish are far too large for the enclosure, and there are too many in the tank. Not only that, the water in the tank is so low, the fish stick out of the water while they are swimming. A really large white fish was just laying because it couldn’t support itself, and was on death’s door. If you can’t care for fish, do not have them. Stop exploiting animals for entertainment purposes. Any way the buffet was super dry and old as well. Desert bar was empty.
