Carmela's — Restaurant in Florida

We came today to eat, and the service was TERRIBLE! We had a waitress who served us the food and came back to us after 15 min and asked if we wanted to order more drinks or dessert. We said that we were still eating so maybe later. After 10 min she came again and asked if we wanted to order dessert, we said that again, we were still eating. So she asked if we wanted the check, my husband asked her if she wanted us to leave and she answered that she finished her shift an hour ago and she was waiting for us to pay. We told her if she finished her shift it’s not our problem that she’s waiting for us and we don’t need to eat fast! She made a face and said that if we paid the bill we could stay as long as we wanted. I’m just saying that it was 4:30 pm on Sunday! We asked to speak with the manager, and they don’t have one. The chef went out with his attitude. This is how the restaurant looks like, with these people that give you attitude. That waitress is the face of the restaurant. Shame on you. I will never come back again. The owner must change the whole stuff. Very bad experience. And by the way, It wasn't the First time that we got an attitude from the same waitress. she is not supposed to work with customers. If you want to enjoy your family time go somewhere else, do yourself a favor, and don't waste your time at this place.

I’m at a loss for words with how terrible the service was at this restaurant. I had no idea how this restaurant was still running with such bad service. I have worked in the food service industry and even the most basic level of service was not met. It was my fathers birthday dinner and it was 8 of us. We were called in after waiting outside and no one actually took us to our table, we sort of just walked to the largest table we saw and after waiting for a server or someone to at least welcome us and sit us I had to go to the hostess and ask if maybe we misunderstood that we were being called in to sit. After 30 minutes of waiting with no menus, no drinks we finally had our server come and take our drink order. As we put in our food orders the waitress kept coming back saying they were out of some of our choices. We had yet to receive our drinks and silverware right up until we received our entrees and only after hunting down a bunch of different staff members. We had the worst dinner service ever, it almost felt like a joke. I was so sad that this was the birthday dinner my father received. The food was ok but definitely not worth the price. I really hope this place gets it together because what they have right now is...

Edited: 2 negative experiences with this restaurant and I wish I had something better to say. 1: Last night I arrived to find it packed to the brim at 8 PM on a Monday night. There wasn’t room for me to sit! They said the kitchen was so backed up I wouldn’t even be able to order takeout, though they asked the manager. My only option was to take a premade plain pizza to go. Well, being starving and coming straight from the airport, I said yes! It was hot, nice size for one hungry person, and reasonable price. The pizza itself wasn’t anything special, cheese fell off the pizza. 2: Tonight I ordered delivery for fish tacos and chocolate pb milkshake. Was really disappointed as an understatement to get a strawberry milkshake and “tacos” with corn tortillas that had crumbled and become inedible, soggy. Not like the photo. $15 for the wrong milkshake and when I called they said they tried to call me to tell me they were out and I didn’t answer, I received no calls. Delivery came without a napkin or silverware which I asked for. Not happy with the service and not giving it a third chance. Happy to see it’s thriving and hope it only has success.
