Service was great but the food was NOT good. Went here for my mother's birthday dinner and we both got sick after, which was an awful birthday present. I felt awful for taking my mom here.
UPDATE: After posting my previous review, Chilli's and I were in contact and they tried to make things better, which was really cool, so props and many thanks to them. They mailed my mother and me some "be our guest" dining cards totaling $30. I appreciate them reaching out and wanting to give us a better experience. I kind of dragged my mom (who did not want to go where she got sick) but I believe in second chances. I know this is a long review, but I wanted to be fair and document what happened.
We ordered the same drinks as last time, the blackberry tea and the sweet tea, and they were fine. We ordered chips and salsa, and it was fine. There wasn't a terrible wait, but our server was not as attentive as last time. Still not an issue, understaffing is a thing in most restaurants anyway. We received our meal a half hour after finishing our appetizer, as it was pretty busy. A different server even came to bring us drink refills and take the empty glasses. One other customer actually got up at one point and started searching cabinets under the server's stations for to-go boxes. Our food was hot when it came out, which was great. The server apologized for the wait even though it totally wasn't his fault. It was a nice gesture and was appreciated.
Last time when my mom had gotten sick she'd ordered the bacon cheeseburger; she ordered the chicken fajitas this time, and she felt fine after. Last time I'd had the margarita chicken, so this time I tried the 6oz sirloin, ordered medium well, with loaded mashed potatoes and broccoli. We had chosen opposite meat choices to see if that related to being sick...More on this later.
Our server checked on us, and I asked for a to-go box for my mom. He brought it to us and showed us how to pay with a card on the machine, and I said I'd be paying with gift cards (which is relatively the same process). He left, and after ~10 minutes of trying to get the cards to work, I called over the closest person working and asked if she could help. She asked who our server was, and got him to come help us. Our server looked mildly frazzled and said I'd made a mistake by calling the "be our guest" cards "gift cards", and that he would have to take the cards and process payment. As our meal was about $27, once he took the cards and went off, we left a tip on the table and left. This was a bit before 5:30pm.
Maybe an hour after getting home, I started to have an upset stomach. I thought "this can't be happening- it wasn't even the same item! There's no way I even had time to digest!" But unfortunately. It WAS happening. I spent around two hours in the bathroom, alternating between sitting on the toilet and throwing up into it. Look, I don't know if it's a placebo type thing, I don't know if this specific chilli's has an awful beef supplier, I don't know if my mom and I are the unluckiest sob's to ever eat here. I do know I ate beef here and my mom ate beef here and we both got sick from it on separate occasions.
My star rating doesn't reflect cleanliness, service, speed, atmosphere, or anything other than the food's after-effects. Everything about my visit was relatively expected. Until I got home and felt more sick than I ever have before. I'm so sorry that my mom went through this and now I understand. Before I had thought "she's just old with a weak stomach but ok". Mom I'm so sorry for the disrespect.
I'm leaving the rating at two stars because the service is good, and if neither of us had gotten sick I'd probably go back. As it stands, I will no longer attempt to dine at this specific Chilli's location. But I'm still very grateful that the company did reach out and try to make things better for us after the first visit. If I could offer anyone advice for dining here, I'd say maybe just avoid...
Read moreLast month we ordered to go after a long day of working in the yard. For starters, we sat in the parking lot for an additional 22 minutes later than the pick up time, even though we were told the order was being bagged within the 1st 5 minutes. I actually inquired with the server asking, does this mean our meals are cold? "No, no, ofcourse not...I thought it was being bagged, they were still cooking" . We ordered 5 meals and an appetizer of chips n guacamole. Every single meal was cold except 1. The chips were missing entirely. I ordered 2 enchilada meals and neither one came with the sides. The salad came with no dressing. So we waited 25 minutes for cold food and half meals.
My bill totaled over $70. I called management immediately, I was told I could come back and they would replace the order entirely,or they would mail gift certificates for the entire order. It was 10 pm now, on a Sunday night after doing yard work. We were not going back.
Those certificates never arrived. I called back, spoke to another manager who, at 1st was saying I maybe was mistaken and didn't order from them. After getting upset, he heard me out apologized and said he would contact the district manager and it would be taken care of. I was informed after return phone calls that they were remailing the certificates, and didnt know what happened to the other ones because they were assured it had been sent. I went as far as contacting my post office and asking them about this. After another week the certificates came in the mail for a total of $20. While I appreciate the gesture, this is not a fair compensation nor is it what was agreed upon. What good is chips n guacamole without the chips??? Or 2 meal orders with NO sides, salad without dressing and completely cold food for the whole order minus 1 meal??? $20 is like a slap in the face and also not what was agreed upon.
For being such a large food chain, I thought this customer service issue was handled poorly. I order from here almost weekly for that amount or close, I've NEVER complained until this experience. Typically we always had a to be expected, good experience with great food and service in the past. I understand things happen, how you DEAL with them speaks volumes. Luis the manager was very professional after finally hearing me out and excellent with his follow up phone calls. The decision maker on the amount of gift cards should ask themselves was it realy worth it to minimalize my bad experience that evening by offering me only less than 1/4 of my order replacement in exchange for a negative public review that could have never been published?...
Read moreAfter a 4 hour drive to the area, we decided to place a to go order. We were given an estimate of 27 minutes. We arrived to this Chili’s at 35 minutes. All of the parking spots were numbered and completely full, with no direction. After circling the building several times, we stopped an employee standing in the parking lot to ask what we were supposed to do because no one was answering the phone. She was overwhelmed, undoubtedly, but took that frustration out on us with a very bad attitude. She told us to “keep circling” around the building to wait for a spot to open. That was complete chaos!!! Tons of cars circling the building to wait for s spot to open, people fighting over spots, NUTS!! I finally found a spot. After a few minutes of calling the restaurant, someone answered. I was told to wait and an employee would come to my car eventually. What?! After 1 hour and 15 minutes and NOONE helping us. We left. I called to ask if our order was even ready and s manager got on the phone. Our order wasn’t even started, so I asked to cancel. He “apologized” and said he didn’t know they would be so busy and were understaffed. He was soooo sorry, he wanted to mail us a gift card. SHOCKER, almost 1 month later and I got NOTHING. Nothing but 2 hours of inconvenience and no food. Would never return here again. Should have listened to my family when they warned about ordering at...
