I wanted to love this place, really. But the food was terrible. Looks delicious 👌 and I expected great things...till I took my first bite. The avocado was rotten, the chicken was undercooked, and the rice had no flavor. My kids said their meal was too spicy, even the fries. My husband didn't even eat much, and that's rare, lol. WAY too much salt. The waitress forgot a lot of what we asked for too. Example: sour cream and tomatoes to go along with the meal, never showed up (even with being reminded). Honestly we barely ate and the waitress picked up on it but we were polite and respectfully paid and left.. considering this a lesson learned. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars (not 1) is because it was a really pretty environment to eat in, And we got to sit underneath a thunderstorm (outdoors) and stay dry.. so that was a unique experience. They're open Terrence seating does have clear plexiglass to cover it, so yes, that part was neat. And I will say they're guacamole appetizer was very good, but I would not recommend adding sour cream to it. It tasted foul. But when I asked for a plain chicken breast (no bun as I'm gluten-free), lettuce, tomato, avocado, and plain cheddar cheese, NO SAUCE..and I get spicy Cajun chicken, with lettuce and rotten avocado, no tomatoes...yeah. It was clear that my order wasn't taken down well. We didn't have much time before we had to go to another tour so I figured I'd give it a try. Didn't mind the seasoning actually, but what I did mind was the chicken not cooked all the way and the avocado inside was disgustingly rotten. Nope. Never again here. Maybe just for drinks next time under the rain 😉. They do have gluten-free options, they do not have vegan options, and for all the other food.. be prepared for a lot of salt. So stay clear for anyone whom may have a heart condition, or high blood pressure.

Pass on Columbias and the tourist lines for Taberna just a couple of minutes walk on St George. The Cuban sandwhich is terrific (and better than Columbia’s) is filled with moist savory pork and the right amount of juicy ham on hot pressed cuban bread. The portion is big and actually plenty for two persons to share. The white sangria is refreshing and well done for that afternoon lunch. Our server, Vivian, was attentive, very informative and outstanding. We loved the relaxing outdoor patio which has a sweet smell of the jasmine flowers throughout the structure. The floor is concrete so no worries about small kids dropping food or glasses. They are also pet friendly. Overall a very affordable, friendly restaurant in the heart of St Augustine’s historic area.

We had a wonderful family meal! We walked in at lunch time during the week with a party of 17 including children! They were accommodating to our party size, the service and our waiter were fantastic, the food and our drinks were delicious (even kid's meal options), and a great atmosphere! The steak sandwich and the Cuban sandwich were GREAT! My husband said his steak sandwich was the best sandwich he has had in a long time. Highly recommend if you are looking for a nice meal in the historic area of the city!

The food here is fantastic. We had a chicken sandwich and a dirty rice bowl with pork. The bread and toppings on the chicken sandwich made it unique and savory. Emma, our server, was warm, helpful, and on top of it.

We were here last night as well but just for a drink. We decided to come back tonight because the menu looked good. Unfortunately our experience last night at the bar wasn’t so hot. The bartender (12/30/18) was clearly flustered and behind when we arrived, which can happen to anyone. But after she appeared to have caught up she was still inattentive to bar patrons. When we sat down the bar was wet and there was a straw with its wrapper and two old drinks in front of us from the previous customers, as well as the bill and tip. After she got our drinks she took the bill but for the whole twenty or so minutes we were there she never cleaned up the wet bar, the old drinks, or the trash. Wiping that up could take all of fifteen seconds. We kept our drinks and elbows at the very edge of the bar the whole time but she never got the hint.

Also, the dark and stormy we ordered had about one sip of rum on top. Pretty skimpy drink.

Anyway, awesome spot for dinner. Would be five stars if our only experience was tonight. The same bartender was making the drinks and they came out great tonight, though we didn’t go up to the bar tonight. I’d definitely come back for dinner as a couple or a family. Great prices, and pretty fast...

The atmosphere was very nice. A cute tavern style resturant. Waitress was nice, but the food was horrid! I would never in my life go here again for food, and I will advise others as well. First place me and my boyfriend went to eat on our first night in st. Augustine for our anniversary and it wasn't pleasant. I bought the steak sandwich for $15 and it was the smallest piece of steak I have ever seen that was completely burnt and well done (mind you that they didn't ask how I would want it done) I assumed it would be shredded steak since it was a sandwich, but no it was just a thin extremely small piece of steak put in between a bun. I had way more bun than meat, very plain, and I was so starving that I actually did eat it all unfortunately but at the end i was eating only bread because of the lack of meat. My boyfriends regular burger was horrible, how you mess up a burger I don't know! But it tasted gross. I spoke with the manager about how displeased I was with my sandwich and he just made the claim that "oh its steak...." and made more excuses. He did NOTHING about trying to make the situation better. We paid over $40 for a horrible meal and a overall bad customer service experience. I work in management and in the service industry, and this was just horrible. I have never in my life complained online about anything, but I truly could not let...
