The lady assisting us was so seemingly annoyed from the beginning and rude. Food was ok, but if I wasn’t there with my family, wouldn’t have gone through even completing the order. She said they were out of beef for the empanadas, so my father asked if they still had it for the sandwich. Snaps at him that yes, they do. I asked which soup she recommends, she said “they’re all right there.” Again, “what do you recommend?” “Any of them.” “Can I sample the cold gazpacho? I’ve never tried it before.” “No, you can’t, it’s prepackaged.” Even though there’s a massive vat (that they don’t serve out of) and many plastic spoons. I understand if “no sample” is a company policy, but it’s clear at this point the lady was just all around unpleasant and doesn’t want to be there. Food came out quiet quickly, and I do want to commend the server for quality service. But management needs to see this rude, uninviting woman right out the door, unless she is management herself. Until then, we shall not return and will encourage our friends to enjoy the excellent customer service and delicious food that many other restaurants in the...
Read moreSorry but I must be honest here. I am German and my wife is Colombian. Maybe I am spoiled but although your food tastes decent it is NOT Spanish Bakery food. The 'empanadas' are horrible as emapanadas go, they are more 'meat pie' than empanada. Hot dogs wrapped in pillsbury dinner roll dough is a pig in a blanket and although it is good, it is not a spanish food item. Oh, and just to be clear hot dogs are not chorizo.
If you are going to be a 'Spanish Bakery' You need someone who knows how to make actual spanish food and you should be serving things like:
Spanish Coffee (with steamed milk -aka Cafe con Leche) Arepas (a cornmeal bread) with and without egg Chicharrón (fried pork belly/rinds) Empanadas (properly done), beef, chicken, and cheese Pan de Bono (bread made of corn flour, cassava starch, cheese and eggs) Pan de Yuca (bread made of cassava starch and cheese) Pan con queso (Bread With Cheese) Chorizo (the real thing)
I don't want to be critical without offering a solution. Reply to me and I will give you places you can go to 'research' a proper...
Read moreI have frequented this establishment since my days as a student at Flagler College. I was saddened when the original owner sold the business to a Disney corporate food entity.
I still like the food and appreciate the changes to the menu, but as you can imagine now that a Disney corporation owns it the prices have gone up significantly. What used to be a 1-2 dollar loaf of bread is now 5-6 dollars and their meal deal prices have increased nearly 500 percent.
I understand that every business is in it to make money but this was the last of the St George food places that put customer first and money second, and now like many of the newer shops owned by big Orlando they have to make the investors happy. The food is still good but you might as well go to Denny’s or Village Inn for lunch at this point. It would probably be cheaper for...
