The lady assisting us was so seemingly annoyed from the beginning and rude. Food was ok, but if I wasn’t there with my family, wouldn’t have gone through even completing the order. She said they were out of beef for the empanadas, so my father asked if they still had it for the sandwich. Snaps at him that yes, they do. I asked which soup she recommends, she said “they’re all right there.” Again, “what do you recommend?” “Any of them.” “Can I sample the cold gazpacho? I’ve never tried it before.” “No, you can’t, it’s prepackaged.” Even though there’s a massive vat (that they don’t serve out of) and many plastic spoons. I understand if “no sample” is a company policy, but it’s clear at this point the lady was just all around unpleasant and doesn’t want to be there. Food came out quiet quickly, and I do want to commend the server for quality service. But management needs to see this rude, uninviting woman right out the door, unless she is management herself. Until then, we shall not return and will encourage our friends to enjoy the excellent customer service and delicious food that many other restaurants in the...

Sorry but I must be honest here. I am German and my wife is Colombian. Maybe I am spoiled but although your food tastes decent it is NOT Spanish Bakery food. The 'empanadas' are horrible as emapanadas go, they are more 'meat pie' than empanada. Hot dogs wrapped in pillsbury dinner roll dough is a pig in a blanket and although it is good, it is not a spanish food item. Oh, and just to be clear hot dogs are not chorizo.

If you are going to be a 'Spanish Bakery' You need someone who knows how to make actual spanish food and you should be serving things like:

Spanish Coffee (with steamed milk -aka Cafe con Leche) Arepas (a cornmeal bread) with and without egg ChicharrĂłn (fried pork belly/rinds) Empanadas (properly done), beef, chicken, and cheese Pan de Bono (bread made of corn flour, cassava starch, cheese and eggs) Pan de Yuca (bread made of cassava starch and cheese) Pan con queso (Bread With Cheese) Chorizo (the real thing)

I don't want to be critical without offering a solution. Reply to me and I will give you places you can go to 'research' a proper...

I have frequented this establishment since my days as a student at Flagler College. I was saddened when the original owner sold the business to a Disney corporate food entity.

I still like the food and appreciate the changes to the menu, but as you can imagine now that a Disney corporation owns it the prices have gone up significantly. What used to be a 1-2 dollar loaf of bread is now 5-6 dollars and their meal deal prices have increased nearly 500 percent.

I understand that every business is in it to make money but this was the last of the St George food places that put customer first and money second, and now like many of the newer shops owned by big Orlando they have to make the investors happy. The food is still good but you might as well go to Denny’s or Village Inn for lunch at this point. It would probably be cheaper for...

Best Piccadillo, Hurray!! So I went into the Spanish Bakery looking for Flan, and instead Piccadillo & Rice is what I had. And it was sooooo good, I could’ve had a few servings more.... But hey, don’t get me wrong... the serving size was appropriate, except with me, if the food is good, one serving is never, ever... good enough! I tried the Piccadillo in Little Havana, and it didn’t even come close to this version... not even sure if I can explain the difference, but it goes like this... this Piccadillo had a kick, flavor... had a “feeling.” The one in little Havana tasted like it was made by Eskimos in Alaska... And hey by the way, that reminds me, I’m still looking for a place that makes, my all, all time favorite, Baked Alaska!

Hidden gem in St. Augustine. You could walk right by this place 100 times and never see it. It is on St. George Street near the north end but tucked away in a courtyard behind Whetstone's Chocolate. I'm a local and have been coming here as long as I can remember. The fresh baked bread (and I mean fresh - it comes out every half hour) goes perfectly with a small bowl of picadillo and rice or the chicken and rice soup. They have meat or fruit empanadas and fresh baked pastries. It's one of the only remaining bargains in the ancient city. They keep their overhead low with courtyard dining.

November 19, 2020, Would definitely eat here again! I rode my bike downtown and was looking for an outdoor place to accommodate my 2 little doggies. I was in the mood for a Keto salad. The Spanish Bakery is tucked in sort of behind Whetstone Chocolates on St. George St. I ordered their 1795 Salad and added Shrimp Salad to it. Big chunks of real baked ham, not deli sliced ham, lots of tomato, cheese and fresh greens . It's normally served with a fresh roll, but I declined the roll. It was delicious! Would definitely recommend and I would eat here again!
