We've had bad experiences at this location previously, but typically were all minor (missed items, out of something, etc.) and more easily overlooked...HOWEVER...this particular trip to the drive-thru 2 days ago was the absolute WORST experience we've ever had!
My SIL and I went to this location to grab late lunch for the entire family, so we had an almost $50 order. We opted for the drive thru in a time crunch (and because of previous negative experiences in the lobby at this location) and there was only one other person in line ahead of us. We got to the speaker, and were immediately told to wait. No big deal-- I spent almost 4 years earlier in life working a McDonald's drive-thru-- we chatted and chilled. The lady came back on the speaker, asking for our order...we placed it carefully, knowing we were placing an order for multiple people...we finished the order--no response--waited--no response crickets...again, no big deal-- we could see from the screen in front of us that it froze halfway thru our order...she finally came back with our total, we pulled forward, paid with our card at the first window, pulled forward to the second window, checking our receipt to make sure we got everything right...got to the second window, and this is where the experience started to REALLY go south quick...
We could tell the gentleman at the second window was either new, or super anxious (he was back and forth kinda frantically)...but he was SUPER sweet...he gave us our drinks and we realized one was wrong, he fixed it quick and again, was super sweet and apologized for the mistake...he gave us our bags with our order and thanked us...before we pulled off, we realized we needed extra toys and flagged him down to ask for one-- this part of the experience is what made me suspect he was new to the job...
Again, having previously worked for McDonald's, I'm WELL AWARE that Happy Meal Toys by themselves are not free, and used to be released to locations in batches of two, so I asked him which toys he had available (as I was handing him cash for them)...he wasn't sure, so again, he was super sweet, apologized, and grabbed the manager behind him to ask...here's where things went ugly...
The female manager (shorter height, older, lighter hair, long ponytail, glasses-- unsure of a name...TBH after what happened I was afraid to ask) rolled her eyes at him as he asked, kind of pushed him out of the way, slung the window open, yelled at me asking "Are you the one asking about toys?"-- to which I politely responded, cash in hand, and said "Yes ma'am, I'd like to purchase one of whichever you have released so far"-- to which she scoffed at me, rolled her eyes, slammed the window shut, and walked away...a few seconds later, the original gentleman opened the window, as she was yelling at him, and she yelled at me from a distance "We only got 1!" I nodded okay as the window closed, cash still in hand-- so she grabbed one, came stomping back, slung the window back open, yelled "$1.07" at me as I handed her $2-- I told her I didn't need my change (as I have been, and still am, a pandemic restaurant worker and am WELL AWARE of the ongoing "coin shortage")...she threw the toy at me thru my truck window-- after I started to roll forward, she yelled at me again to stop, and threw one of my $1s back at me as she yelled "Screw it! It's only 7 damned cents! Keep your dollar!"-- and slammed the...
Read moreI truly want to love it because it's directly by my home. I want to also support those local to me like the workers but these workers just do not even try. They are sometimes downright nasty in their behavior. The last time I went the lady practically threw the bag at me said nothing and turned away. I asked if that was everything and she said exasperatedly "Yes go! " there wasn't a line waiting or any reason to talk to me like a toddler. I was just thrown off by the lack of basic politeness. I have brought my kids into the play area and the floors are often disgusting and sticky. The last time the door alarm went off and they couldn't care less to come turn it off. There was a handful of young babies in the area so I finally went and said can we get this turned off please? They didn't answer and took about ten minutes to do so by which we just decided to up and leave as it was hurting our ears. Overall if the staff would take note from the workers at Chick-fil-A, they would get the location some higher reviews and...
Read moreManager was incredibly rude and yelled over the young lady who was already speaking. I first asked for a steak bagel which the young lady responded they are not serving the steak. I said “oh man” and pulled away to get what my grandmother would want instead. When I got back to the speaker I asked for a sausage egg and cheese bagel which the young lady then said they also don’t have because they are not serving bagels due to their limited menu. I then said I wish they would have mentioned that the first time. That’s when the Manager came over the mic and yelled they don’t have it and to have a nice day. I was shocked by the managers tone and being told to have a nice day as if being told to leave. So Instead of changing my order I left as did the car behind me.
I’ve been coming to this McDonald’s for the past 15 years. My family and I will NOT be spending our money with your company any longer.
While these are tough and trying times it’s no reason to be rude or devalue...
