It's in that strip mall on Factory Shops Blvd. I've known about it for some time, but never got the chance to try it. This was the perfect time to do so on a cold day after shopping. I love the ramen bar atmosphere! The look & vibe is so cool. There's a long ramen bar for single diners as well as table seating. The bar is decorated with GK models of anime action figures. There are action cartoons on the TV as you're eating. It's such a fun environment. Nick greeted me as I entered. He gave me a great description of the Choya Umeshu soda. They have it in yuzu and plum wine flavors. I love that it was sweet and tart. It was a great choice. I couldn't decide between the Tori Paitan, Tantanmen, or Duck Ramen. There was even a Lobster Udon & Seafood Ramen. There were so many choices, and they all looked so good on the menu. I ended up ordering the Tonkotsu Ramen. I really liked the flavor of the broth, and the shredded nori topping. It's like having a bit of seaweed in every bite. The chashu was surprisingly tender, and plentiful. Although there wasn't much of a char on the pork belly. Maybe because the slices were so big. It was really good even without the char. I loved that it had a ginger topping. It brought all the flavors out. It was a very generous serving. Did you see the size of the bowl? The egg was the only thing that I'd change. It was good, but I prefer a seasoned or marinated one. I usually order an additional seasoned egg if I see it on the menu. Not this time. With that said, it was still a very tasty bowl of ramen. There is no doubt in my mind that I'll return for more. There are so many tasty options. I really wanted to try their steam buns. They even have a tofu and sweet potato one for vegetarians. The rice bowls and appetizers look great as well. Next time I will try something different. The service was great! I didn't have to wait too long, and the ramen arrived hot & delicious. I totally recommend stopping here on your way in or out of the outlet mall.

Always looking for great Asian restaurants. First time here so we went with a variety of dishes. Started with pork belly buns. These are served on soft, flat folded buns. The pork belly was thick and perfectly matched with the sauce. We tried two different Ramen bowls. The miso concentration made a statement, unlike some other miso ramens I’ve had that were too watery. The curry chicken tasted Indian style. And I got one of my favorite dishes, unagi don. The eel flaked apart easily and was delicious. The serving size was just a bit smaller than I would have expected for the price but with the accompanying seaweed salad and shaved squid accompaniments in the bowl adding variety of flavors and textures, I would definitely get it again. Don’t go here for a cheap meal, go here for a great one. The only disappointment was our purchase of a matcha sake bottle. It tasted great but was almost three times as expensive as what you would buy in a liquor store. My first time here, but definitely not my last.

My family and I ate here for Christmas. I couldn’t finish my meal because I started to feel nauseous while eating. I started to notice a weird smell from my ramen. I threw up for 5 minutes at a gas station not even 3 minutes away from the restaurant. 2 of my family members that ate ramen also felt nauseous for the next 24 hours. Based on the good reviews maybe there were changes in the preparation of the food due to the holidays. I’m not sure but we paid almost $100 to be sick. Be careful. Also, the attitudes from the servers were flat and very short. Not friendly at all. We only stayed because of the 4.6 star rating… hoping to have good food for Christmas while we were on vacation.

My family and I went to Mitaka Ramen, located at 5943 Factory Shops Boulevard, Ellenton, FL 34222, for a celebratory dinner, but unfortunately, we had a terrible experience with both the food and the service.

When our food arrived, we tasted our orders but found the flavors to be very disappointing. Hoping it was just an issue with individual dishes, we each tried each other’s meals, but none of us enjoyed the food at all. We informed our waitress that we were unhappy with the food and that we would not be eating further. We explained that we were still hungry and planned to eat somewhere else, and we kindly asked if we could pay half the bill since we didn’t enjoy any of the food.

The waitress spoke to the manager, who then came to our table. The manager told us that we would have to pay the full price because we had "eaten" the food, even though we only tasted it. When we reiterated that we didn’t enjoy the meal and asked to pay half, she refused and threatened to call the police if we didn’t pay in full.

To avoid further conflict, we decided to pay the full price using a credit card. We explained that we were not happy with the service, would not leave a tip, and did not want to sign the receipt. As we were leaving, the manager ran after us, repeatedly asking us to sign the receipt. We finally signed but made it clear that we would never return to the restaurant again.

Sadly, this was our first visit, and it turned out to be the worst dining experience we’ve ever had. After the meal, my entire family felt sick to our stomachs, and we are now at the hospital for possible food poisoning. We intend to send the dinner receipt and our hospital bills to a lawyer for further action.

I hope no one else has to go through what we experienced. The food was terrible, the service was unacceptable, and we wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Worst experience ever. Do...
