Here we go…
Part I: The staff at this location works as slow as molasses. I placed my mobile order to avoid having to wait in the drive thru line (which was wrapped around the building and impeded traffic in the shopping center in which it was located). That alone should tell you how slow the staff was. It looks like this location opened fairly recently, so perhaps the staff is new and still getting in the swing of things. If I’m mistaken, I would recommend evaluating overall efficiency of the operations at this location. I observed the staff having to go back and forth between work stations multiple times. Perhaps they were short staffed and people had to wear multiple hats. In general, none of the employees seemed to have a sense of urgency to reduce the wait time for their customers in line.
Part II: I wrote my initial comment (Part I, seen above) while waiting inside of the restaurant. I should have waited to submit my comment until I got home, because my experience only continued to go down hill.
I placed my order via the Popeye’s app. At the end of the ordering process, the app directed me to go inside the restaurant and wait near the counter, and that my name would be called.
I followed the instructions as directed by the mobile app.
I waited over 45 minutes in the restaurant. At one point the employee who was running the cash register AND handling food (⚠️WITH OUT washing her hands in between handling CASH and FOOD which is a violation of food safety standards⚠️), noticed that I had been standing and waiting for a long time. She asked me “is your name “Bob”?” I replied yes. She then yelled at me “baby, you gotta get in line and wait your turn. Then, you tell me you placed a mobile order and THEN I’ll make your food”.
This clearly was not aligned with the directions on the mobile app.
After I was made to wait in the line (which took and additional 20 minutes), I approached the counter and told the employee that I placed a mobile, I was then treated like I was ignorant or had a intellectual disability, and was reminded that if I place a mobile order, I will need to wait in line like everybody else and then tell the cashier I placed an mobile order.
I told the employee, who was a shift leader, that the mobile app instructed me to wait near the counter and wait to have my name called.
The shift leader replied with “we don’t do it that way here”.
I was dumbfounded by the lack of understanding of the standard operating procedures regarding mobile order pickups.
I was insulted by the tone of the shift leader, especially when I let her know that the mobile app directed me to wait by the counter until I hear my name called, and she said “we don’t do it that way here” AND that she made me wait in line for 20 minutes AFTER I had already waited in the restaurant for over 45 minutes.
I don’t intend on returning to this Popeye’s location. The staff was too slow, too ignorant of their company’s operating procedures, and too disrespectful when interacting with customers.
————————- I sent the comments seen above to the Popeye’s customer support team via their website. After exchanging several emails with them, all I got in return was a disingenuous copy & paste of a fake corporate apology. I asked to have a member of their leadership reach out to me (I provided my contact information), and never hear back from anyone.
Popeyes, you’ve got some good chicken, but you’re guest...
Read moreI had the worst experience at this place, in the heart of Kissimmee, where most customers are in town visiting Disney. Disney is one of the happiest places on earth but I am not certain if its the COVID-19 pandemic that has some people who reside and work in this beautiful town so crabby. Every negative occurrence surprises me, and I truly pray for these unhappy people to tap into joy.
My experience: I placed an order for some chicken nuggets with no salt or sauce. I was specific about this because I had ordered some nuggets from a location down the street from this location on May 28th and they were surprisingly very salty. Therefore at this location, I asked if salt is added on the chicken nuggets because periodically, I desire to get my protein from a small.amount of chicken to ensure my protein levels aren't low. A female took my order at the speaker and she told me, no, they do not put salt on the chicken. I get to the drive-through window where a very flamboyant male takes my payment, while I wait for my debit card back and a receipt, I observed him tare off all of the past customers' receipts that he hadn't being providing customers. He handed my card back but I had to request a receipt. He never offered a receipt, he just threw it in the trash. Minutes later, he handed me a bag with the chicken nuggets, a few napkins and approximately seven different sauces, none of which I requested. I used the napkins to grab the sauces from the bag and told the guy I did not want them. He said, I cannot take them back and I am thinking why not as I replied, "I did not ask for them." He reiterated with his mouth perched and face frowned, "I cannot take them back" as I had my arm.extended towards the window. I asked for the manager and an elderly lady comes to the window as well as the male from the inside front counter. The drive-through window guy says to the elderly lady, I gave the sauces to her as a courtesy and now she's saying she doesn't want them, but I told her we cannot take them back, he stated with no mask on. She chimed in with no mask, face crowned up and repeated, we cannot take them back as they look at me as if I were an alien wearing a mask in a world of COVID and Money Pox. I tossed the sauces into the window and advised them that their customer service needed work. I will call the Corporate Office of Popeyes to report this incident on the next business day. He placed all the sauces in the bag without a glove, only his bare hand and handed to me. Why do they think customers want their germs passed into our vehicles and subsequently our homes. Treat the customers with the same respect. The chicken nuggets were light and crispy; cooked...
Read moreWe were in a hurry to get home and eat so we did the mobile ordering at 12:41. When we pulled into the parking lot, we had to back out of it since there was no parking and the drive through is closed. There is no way to get around the building without backing all the back up. The line inside was quite long but no worries, we already had our order in. About 10-12 people ordered after us and started to get their orders and leave. The manager called us to the front and said that they didn’t have enough chicken for the order. We could either have what was left up there, spicy mainly, or we could wait longer. I decided that I would rather wait since I can’t have the spicy chicken. That was around 1:15. I would rather wait for fresh chicken. While we waited, I explored the place. Someone in line said it was the biggest Popeyes since they had a second floor for dining. The place was busy so no one was able to come out and clean up the tables. A few of the chairs were wobbly. The upstairs looked more spacious. The bathroom was clean and had plenty of toilet paper, even though it was just sitting on top. The restaurant is very colorful. The soda machine was not working and someone had to come out and help with it. Despite the line, the demand of orders, and the irritated people, no one seemed to be in a hurry behind the counter, especially since the drive through was shut down. No rush. Around 1:35, we finally received our food. We left the parking lot around 1:41, AN HOUR AFTER ARRIVING TO PICK UP A MOBILE ORDER. I don’t give low reviews often but it was really looking like this was going to be a 1 star review. However, despite there being only four people working the lunch rush in that busy area, the chicken was good. I am not sure what we would have received if we just took what they had instead of waiting. I am not impressed with this place. I have tried to order from them through Uber Eats and after an hour, they cancelled my order and refunded the money. I tried it in person to give it a chance. I won’t be back. If it takes an hour to receive chicken from a chicken place and there doesn’t seem to be any rush or importance on the orders, it’s not worth going back. I still gave it a three since the quality of the food is what is important to me and the chicken was...
