Only way to know if a place is any good is to go and decide yourself and don’t listen to any of the reviews you read. I decided to try Osaka Bay Buffet for dinner last evening with my son, daughter in law and granddaughter instead of Kizuna Asian Buffet and Sushi since I ate there for lunch the day before and wasn’t very impressed with the food at all (See my review of Kizuna). The food here at Osaka for dinner was about the same as Kizuna, just so so. Most every dish that’s supposed to be hot was either warm at best or just plain cold. The only thing that was hot was the Lo mein and fried rice I had. When I saw them bring out a whole steamed turbot fish and a new batch of frog legs, I immediately grabbed some and returned to my table to eat what I thought would be nice hot food, both were not quite warm. Lots of food weren’t replenished often enough, someone just went around stirring things up a bit to try and make it more appealing. I didn’t have the hibachi, but it had to be hot because it’s being cooked on the grill while you watch. I tried a variety of dishes and overall they just seemed passable but not considered good or great like some people say. Most things just weren’t appealing to me and those I chose just weren’t hot like they should be except for a fresh batch of stuffed crab shell with a diced up filling of sort, I grabbed a few too many. They were good but very salty and in very small crab shells, woke up several times during the night to get something to drink. I did get a 10% discount for being a senior, but that isn’t an incentive for me to go back. This place reminded me of my lunch at Kizuna and of what was once there, Hokkaido Chinese and Japanese which wasn’t very good as well. Osaka and these other places are primarily for caucasian people, this is what they like. They prefer quantity over quality and at a cheap price. Forgot to mention there were no crab legs for dinner, very disappointed. Do yourself a favor if you want a halfway decent variety of food with lots of hot dishes, go to Golden Corral, you can’t go wrong there. They have hot, crispy and tender fried chicken that I like together with hot mashed potatoes and brown gravy. Lots of hot vegetables as well that are very good. They have steak grilled to how you like and other carved meats like ham and turkey. They have everything from soup to nuts. Tons of stuff for salads, not to mention numerous dessert varieties that would put Osaka’s dessert choices to shame. There’s just too much to mention, go and see for yourself and compare. Oh well, I’ve crossed Osaka off my list of places to eat in the Orlando area and removed it from my saved list on...
Read moreIn comparison to MANY other Asian buffet experiences available in the Central Florida (tourist/hospitality) area, this one makes a true impact, and in all the right ways. For me the primary focus is going to be regarding being a clean location with proper sanitation in place, and this location checked all those boxes. The individual stations are well organized and (at least for my visit) properly filled, cleaned, and maintained. For the most part, the items are properly labeled (some misspelled, but no big deal) and have proper serving utensils for each one. When a new/replacement item is brought out there is proper food rotation. This nice young lady assigned to assist our table was superb from start to finish (name Alin according to the receipt). Thanks!! I began my dining experience by taking a very small amount of multiple items to determine my favorites for larger portion later. I found almost all to be quite delicious. My only disappointment was the one rib I picked out. It was not good (at all!!) which might have been a fluke, although another at our table didn't card for his either. The chicken-on-a-stick looked a bit dry but ended up being one of my overall favorites. Looks were deceiving as it was tender and tasty. The sautéed mushrooms were great texture and not over-flavored. A wide variety of shrimp options was actually a bit overwhelming, and all were delicious in their own way. The cocktail sauce had a definite 'kick' and I really enjoy that. I assume there is horseradish involved, which some may not embrace, but I certainly did. The hibachi preparation can build a bit of a line, but the cook was doing a magnificent job of multi-taking for quick delivery of the finished products. I'm that odd diner who is not a big fan of sushi, but I found their selection to be visually wonderful. I would normally skip those items, but I did take one each of two unique offerings and truly enjoyed both. This is my first review ever to comment on sushi that I actually tried. I find this new location to be a VERY easy recommendation to others. I no longer work in the general area so I will unfortunately not be making many return visits, but for those in this area close to Disney, you definitely want to give it a...
Read moreOsaka Bay Buffet is our go-to buffet spot for a great meal, and it never disappoints. The food is good quality and there's something for everyone. The sushi selection is lovely, with a good variety of different options. I love the hibachi grill, where you get to customize your own meal. You choose your ingredients, hand them to the chef, and they cook it right there for you—it's fresh, hot, and tasty. Plus, it’s a great place to bring the kids since they have plenty of child-friendly food options. What truly sets this place apart is the incredible service. Our server, Eileen, is an absolute gem. She's so kind, attentive, and has the sweetest personality. She always goes above and beyond to make sure we have everything we need, and her excellent service is a major reason why we keep coming back. We highly recommend Osaka Bay Buffet for its wonderful food and...
