Steak 'n Shake — Restaurant in Florida

LOOK OUT FOR THE WAITRESS NAMED DIANA M.! I went here with my boyfriend at about 2am Thursday night/Friday morning, so not a busy time! The lone waitress walked past us as soon as we came in to consort with a group of people who were talking loudly outside about getting high. I don't care what other people do with their lives, but unprofessional. We waited to be seated for a few minutes while I noted that we were the only patrons. My order was simple -- plain bacon cheeseburger with water to drink. As soon as I said what I wanted, the waitress asked me to repeat it. I did, and she asked if I wanted 'everything' on the burger. I said that I wanted just bacon and cheese on it. -_- She brought us drinks that were mostly ice then disappeared for the majority of our remaining time there. We saw our food immediately made in the kitchen, and watched as it sat on a counter 20 feet away for five minutes before my boyfriend walked up and asked if he could just take it to the table. We began eating and the waitress never came back for the tray so my boyfriend quickly took it back. I will say, for some reason I was given an obscene amount of fries, which was good given that my burger was only ok and I didn't finish it. Anyway, after all this we finished eating and waited for the waitress to make an appearance so we could get shakes. Despite the already terrible experience, we craved shakes and figured that would be hard to mess up. Thankfully we were right and they were good, though I ordered a small and the waitress brought me a medium. It was happy hour for shakes and I was already done with her constant mistakes and complete lack of professionalism, so I decided to ignore it and enjoy my shake. A small number of patrons came in while we were eating. One group came in and when Diana asked how many people they had, they said seven and she said that's a lot. Quite rude. I overheard her complaining to customers about her back hurting which I think was a lie to excuse how lazy she was. Also she kept not just sitting by customers at their tables, but rather leaning against chairs as if she were at home, not in a workplace. The one redeeming factor was a cook who went above and beyond, picking up the waitress' constant slack which was NOT his job. He shouldn't have had to be taking and delivering orders in addition to his actual job of cooking the food. He saw us waiting to place a shake order after we'd been done eating for a few minutes and got the waitress for us. It was odd how the few times she appeared, late, she tried to act as if she had been doing her job the whole time. We were going to complain to a manager, but realized the manager on duty would not have allowed such horrid service were he good at his job; in lieu of that, my boyfriend and I decided to tip the overworked cook and skip out on tipping the WWW - World's Worst Waitress. She conveniently hung out by the cash register as we were leaving, like a dog that thinks waiting by the pantry door after pooping on your hardwood floors will warrant a bone. In short, THAT WAITRESS COULDN'T POUR PISS OUT OF A BOOT IF THE INSTRUCTIONS WERE ON THE HEEL! We actually saw her laying on the sidewalk by the entrance as we were driving out of the lot! If you must eat here, do so during the day when there are a lot of people here and a legitimate wait staff. Just hope your waitress...

Upon arrival and being seated we waited for a good five minutes before anyone approaches to greet us. The store had literally only 3 customers in it and five employees and they were all in the back joking around being unprofessional on their cell phones finally we get approached by one of the waiter who looked miserable was not friendly at all finally we sit and ordered a skillet for breakfast when the skillet came out it looked not like the picture at all the avocados were rotten and it was one or two little pieces of avocado and when I told the lady if she had more avocados she says we can charge you more and see what this is not the same amount of avocado that is in the picture and she jokingly says well and never looks like the picture and I thought that was offensive and unprofessional and rude when they brought a big was out the big was Burnt to charcoal. I can barely swallowed one bite so when I told the lady if I can have new Bagels she looked very annoyed I ate the food as I was working down the skill at the bottom of the skillet had the hash browns which were rock hard burnt just like the bagels it was repulsive disgusting and probably the worst breakfast I had in my life. She didn't refill or ask us if we needed extra water or juice and then while we were eating one of the employees in the back kitchen was complaining how he doesn't get paid enough and wasn't going to answer to nobody because he needed a raise he kept complaining give me my raise give me my raise to one of the coworkers I do not recommend this location I really wish someone would contact me and Company for this miserable experience the cleanliness of the store was disgusting staff was rude food was horrible what a waste of time and money beware of...

Service at this steak and shake is terrible, waited 30 mins for our food which is no big deal but when i asked for our drink cups we were treated as if we were lying so then she made me show proof of purchase which is fine i get it, but when im waiting that long for our food and you can clearly see on their end i bought 4 drinks and was still waiting for them dont act like i am lieng to you. We then ordered 4 milkshakes to go, sat and waited 20 mins because i didnt want to rush them as they had a pretty decent crowd. I then noticed they completely skipped over our number and was handing out everyone else’s milkshakes they ordered, i then go up there and say ive been waiting 20 mins for 4 small milkshakes and we have yet to receive them and our number was completely skipped over, she then proceeds to tell me they didn’t have our order acting if i didn’t order to which i showed her the receipt and how conveniently she comes out not even 2 mins later with all our shakes, they literally sat in the back the whole entire time and by time we got them it was literally the consistency of water. To make it better one of the kids milkshakes they busted through the cup when making it and instead of just dumping it into another cup the brilliant people just decided to put another cup under it and not say nothing to us, well because the consistency was of water it all dumped out the cup when we got to the vehicle.
