Winn-Dixie — Local services in Temple Terrace

Unbelievable! They had lines at the checkout that were blocking the front aisles. I was only there to grab a couple things and was frustrated that I couldn't even get across the store to get to the aisle I needed. I've never shopped this location before, so I had to walk around a bit to find what I was looking for. By the time I figured out what I wanted and discovered where to find it, I made MY way to the checkout. I couldn't believe that I still saw 2 of the people blocking the aisle from earlier waiting in line.

I was also surprised to find there was no self checkout. I ended up only selecting one item, so I got in the 20 item or less line. This cashier was incredibly slow and inefficient. I wanted to set my item down and bag for her. It seems she had never been trained on handling things once. The guy in front of me had about 15 items. She scanned each item and stacked them up and then proceeded to bag the items stacked up, only after completing the sale instead of bagging as she scanned. It's no wonder they had long lines.

Then when she was finally done bagging the customer in front of me (who felt the need to assist her), she forgot to scan my item. I put my card in, selected cash back, and waited.... She stood there for a few seconds trying to figure out what was going on, and then realized she had never scanned my item. This is NOT what I would expect from a grocery store. This is Walmart's level...

I shop here at least 2-3 times a week. I never have an issue, the employees are always really nice, but the elderly woman that worked at the hot food station today needs training on how to speak to customers. I never buy hot food from Winn Dixie and it was my first time. My daughter was home sick and I was on lunch break so I decided to get waters and some hot food. She was too bothered just to ask how to go about doing it. I watched a man before me mix all his food. All she could say with a nasty attitude was "It says 8.99 a lb. Everything is 8.99 a lb!" I asked something else but was ready to curse her out after that second response so I just stayed quiet. I accidentally put too much food in a smaller container and was looking for a garbage can after I switched the food to a bigger one and didn't see one. I ddnt want to leave the used container in the hot food area, so I kindly approached her and asked if there was a garbage can because I didn't want to just leave the container sitting in the food area. Even my daughter noticed her scrunch her face up at me. If I serviced pts with the same attitude she serves customers I wouldn't be 15 yrs into my career. I have worked McDonald's and supermarkets between my legal and medical jobs and still knew how to give respectful customer service. Leave the attitude at home, and if you don't like your job or the public or certain public then don't work...

While I "starred" this Wnn-Dixie as "liked-it" it was more out of convience & not wanting to go all the way to either Wal-mart in the close proximity of my in-law's & also needing to feed my husband quickly for the evening. The pricing for generic brand seemed fine & also the deals of what I saw were decent. I very rarely go into any Winn-Dixie due to the fact that the one near my home smells just aweful & I don't really like there generic flavor of foods. I also was not doing full on shopping, just a few items for dinner, Canned Chicken Noodle Soup, bread, case of water, (2)6pk diet soda non-generic & a few more misc. items for the next few dinners. In total maybe 14 to 20 items & was very shocked at the price being over $60.00 & My other problem about the store was, that it was not labeled very well. It was very hard to find things. I. E. a loaf of bread not anywhere to be found except on the inside isle of the wine section...of course it is why didn't i think of that. REALLY, but not to mention the produce & bakery are is on the other side of whole side of wine section so when asking for assistance with locating the bread it was quite a treat. So needless to say may just take my chance with a wal-mart next time for pricing & locating items faster to get back quicker...
