THE SHORT Version : My visit to IHOP was marred by several concerning issues. Despite initially pleasant interactions with our waitress, Virginia, my baby's discomfort hinted at underlying problems. Even after apologizing for my baby's expressions, the experience soured quickly.
The manager's inappropriate behavior of grabbing my baby’s hand was alarming, and the unclean plates and silverware only exacerbated the situation. We had to request plasticware due to the unsanitary conditions.
The most egregious incident occurred during payment, with Virginia altering the bill and pressuring me to sign without explanation. The dismissive response from management further highlighted the establishment's lack of accountability.
Overall, IHOP's disregard for cleanliness and customer satisfaction left me deeply disappointed. I advise others to steer clear of this establishment to avoid similar unpleasant experiences. This is a no star location. IHOPs in my Home town WOULD NEVER.
THE LONG Version: From the moment I entered IHOP, my experience took an unfortunate turn. Despite my initial impression of our waitress, Virginia, being pleasant, my eight-month-old baby seemed to sense something awry, expressing discomfort with subtle cues that I foolishly overlooked. In an attempt to maintain civility, I even extended an apology to Virginia for my baby's apparent disapproval, attributing his perplexing facial expressions to mere infantile quirks. However, little did I realize that these expressions may have been intuitive warnings, foretelling the disappointing ordeal that awaited us. Despite my efforts to diffuse any tension, the unfolding events only served to validate my baby's unspoken apprehensions about our waitress and the establishment as a whole.
The first red flag arose when I brought a discrepancy to the attention of the manager, only to have him abruptly grab my baby's hand without consent. While I initially dismissed this unsettling encounter, it highlighted a boundary violation that should never occur in a customer service setting.
Furthermore, the state of the plates and silverware, covered in an unappealing film, revealed a concerning lack of cleanliness and attention to detail. Such negligence detracted from the dining experience and raised doubts about the restaurant's standards. We had to request plasticware instead of the tainted silverware to ensure a hygienic meal.
The most egregious offense occurred during the payment process, where a discrepancy in the total amount was tactlessly addressed. Upon receiving a revised receipt with an inflated total and an unauthorized tip amount, I was left incredulous. Virginia's audacity to tamper with the bill and pressure me into signing without prior explanation was both unprofessional and unethical.
Despite raising the issue with another staff member, the response was disappointingly dismissive, devoid of accountability or attempts to rectify the situation. This lack of accountability, coupled with the unsanitary conditions and disregard for customer satisfaction, reflects poorly on IHOP's management and undermines trust in their establishment.
As if to compound the ordeal, a final insult emerged in the form of a foreign hair on my daughter's plate (we are all curly haired and this was a short straight hair), further underscoring the establishment's disregard for hygiene and quality control.
In conclusion, my experience at IHOP was marred by substandard service, unprofessional conduct, and blatant disregard for customer well-being. It is evident that the establishment prioritizes profit over customer satisfaction, resorting to underhanded tactics and neglecting basic standards of cleanliness. I urge others to exercise caution and avoid IHOP, as my unfortunate encounter serves as a cautionary tale against patronizing such...
Read moreMy visit to this IHOP was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had. We had to wait forever for our food, and the service was extremely poor from start to finish. We didn’t even get straws until 10 minutes after our drinks arrived, and we didn’t get napkins until we were nearly done eating. Our server, Cameron, was not attentive or welcoming.
When the food finally came, my mother’s sandwich was made incorrectly — it had bacon on it even though we had specifically asked for no bacon due to religious reasons. Cameron said it would be remade, but it was back in five minutes and completely cold. It was obvious they just scraped the bacon off instead of making a fresh one. When we asked if it had actually been remade, Cameron just said, “the manager is coming out” without giving us an answer.
The manager who came to the table was short, very sweaty, out of breath, and looked extremely unprofessional and honestly gross. He insisted it had been remade — which made no sense because he also said the item had already been taken off the check. If it was truly remade properly, why was it removed from the bill? He then walked away without even offering to remove the cold sandwich from the table.
Throughout the rest of our meal, we could hear the manager yelling loudly at the staff from the kitchen — completely unprofessional and uncomfortable for customers to hear.
When it came time to pay, we tried to use a 20% off discount offered through our resort. The server told us we couldn’t use it on both checks and went to ask the manager — only for us to hear the manager screaming from the kitchen, “NO STACKING COUPONS.” We weren’t stacking coupons — we were trying to apply the same promotion to two separate checks, which is completely standard.
Then another manager, a bald, round man, came out and told us we needed a physical coupon from the resort — even though our resort clearly stated that showing a room key was enough. Only after we showed him a picture of the promotion did he finally apply the discount.
Overall, the workers were incredibly unprofessional and the service was awful. I used to work at IHOP myself, so I know how things should be done — and this was unacceptable. I will not be eating here again and I suggest you...
Read moreIf I could rate this a 0 star I would Tbh terrible experience server was actually moody very dry every time me and my friend would say thank you to her she would say "mhmm" just mumbling I believe her name was Jennifer my turkey bacon was burnt I asked for over easy egg. I got over medium and half uncooked side I didn't even eat the turkey bacon honestly I tipped her like 3 4 dollars. I would've tipped her more if she would have done better but coming from myself. I am a server myself and I know the principles no passion at all for serving no diligence no sense of urgency, I'm talking about we had no napkins no refills definitely won't be coming back for this location. She asked me if I wanted my turkey bacon cooked again after me having it sitting on a plate for like 30 minutes as I'm bout to check out. She even grabbed my plate and didn't realize that I had the turkey bacon on that single napkin that I had where my utensils were placed at I think is very unfortunate she could've asked me these two questions. Would you like me to make it again for you or would you like me to take it off of the bill for you? That is how you're supposed to address a table with a matter of a situation like this, she only gave me one alternative choice and it was if I wanted it made again and I told her no to be honest. I didn't even eat it at all, and she ended up still charging me for it this is so disappointing because I have been a customer of IHOP for sometime now and I will no longer be coming to this location again and the last thing was she didn't even gave us a check when we gave her the cash not even a thank you or nothing or goodbye. Have a good night. Absolutely nothing terrible service terrible Server . If it was busy, I would understand, but we were literally the only table that...
