Tijuana Flats — Restaurant in Florida

I used to frequent Tijuana Flats a lot because it was a good food experience with friendly staff. Today was a reminder for me about why I stopped ordering from Tijuana Flats. I placed my order online and will say that was the best and easiest part of the experience. The order said it would be ready at 8:01pm. I arrived at 804 or 805 and walked inside to the sign that clearly said to go pick up orders here. I waited for several minutes while staff continued doing their own things before a staff member finally walked up to me. This was only due to them carrying a to go order otherwise she would not have left her station she was in it seems. When I gave her my name, she said that to-go orders are all over on the rack by the door despite the signage that says otherwise. Cue one for non-helpful service and another for misleading navigation within the restaurant. I could get past that though if the food was good and everything was to order. My food, when I checked it right outside the door, was extremely cold like it had been sitting for far longer than 5 minutes, longer even than 20 minutes as my mind wonders if they maybe just tossed cold fillings on both tacos that were hot a WHOLE AGO. (Other restaurants do not seem to have quite this issue when dealing with their online to go orders.) Then they missed order notes as both tacos should have been blackened chicken with black beans and only 1 had black beans on it. My drink was to be light ice and was packed full of ice. I debated standing there to complain but determined that no one would respond to me for any decent length of time and that was my mistake as this food never should have left the restaurant. For anyone who is curious about the new fajita shrimp quesadilla, it is not worth it in my opinion. This is what it looked like when I opened it. Yes there's a bite taken out of one of the pieces but I opened it after it didn't taste like much except for flour tortilla. The other picture is exactly what it looked like when I opened it, nothing removed. If there was any garlic lime sauce on it, I couldn't taste it or see it. Unfortunately the garlic lime is what sold me on trying it. It also seems to only have about a tablespoons worth of cheese on it. I should have known not to get it when I asked for it megajuana and they told me they didn't have enough shrimp to do that. They also assured me that there would be more than enough for a normal serving. Okay I guess about eight shrimp total is what you get on a normal serving which I think is a bit stingy but fine, it's shrimp. Could I at least have some cheese on a quesadilla? Even Taco Bell has more cheese than that on their cheapest quesadilla! Every quesadilla I've had from various restaurants usually oozes with cheese .. in fact my granddaughters kids meal chicken quesadilla had plenty of cheese on it. But to think that they charge $10.49 or something like that for this meal... outrageous! Maybe I was just unlucky enough to get a very poorly prepared one. But I doubt I would ever try it again. Or anything else from that place...

I work at a business nearby and we selected Tijuana Flats for a catered lunch as a treat to our employees.

First of all, we had to leave a massive tip on top of the delivery charge before the food came. Which didn't make sense for the 1 mile journey for this person but anyway... They were scheduled to come at 12:15 and did not come until 12:40. The burritos didn't even have lettuce in them. And, I had ordered a side of sour cream with all of them and they did not have them. I had to show the delivery girl the receipt of the transaction and I pointed out where we were charged for the sour cream, and she said "Aaaah! Let me go get that for you!" and ran out the door.

She came back quite some time later, I thought she had forgotten about us. I had (and quite a few others) had already finished their burrito, and she shows up with a big bag of sour cream cups and said, "Sorry about that!" and ran off before I could say "I just want a refund for this..." :(

I handed out the sour cream and a few people were like "Well... this would have been nice when I STARTED eating." I agreed.

And the beef burritos were not even that good at all. Chicken ones were ok. Cookie dough flautas were on point, but everything else was not so much. Next time we want burritos or Tex Mex, we will be going with...
