Update for 2025: we got a BOGO coupon so what the heck, we went back. There were only three servers so they had us wait for ten minutes to be seated. There were empty sections but otherwise, it was busy. All the staff we saw and interacted with were nice and stepped up to take care of guests. Macie was our server and she took great care of us! It took a while to get our food but it came out hot and fresh! Chicken fried chicken and chicken fried steak were both delicious. Cooked perfectly. The rolls were fresh and the tea was so good! No complaints this trip! We really want them to succeed here! Thank you Macie!! Excellent, friendly and conscientious service. ,.....................
2024 Update: 9 months later, we tried again. Where is management at this location? Hostess told us 5 minutes with 5 groups waiting. More people came in to wait. Not many were seated. People left, tired of waiting. Lots of open tables. Hostess kept disappearing. 30 minutes later, we were seated. Now we saw where the hostess was hiding. She never did anything to help bus tables but sat with a lady dining in a booth next to us. our waiter was friendly and never neglected us. That was an improvement over last time. Food was ok but the broccoli casserole was soupy. In all, we waited poor attention to getting people seated, no interest in making sure people felt welcome - saw probably $300+ in potential business walk out while we waited. I'm waiting for this location to close. Again, where is management?!
Original review: 2023 We haven't been in a while due to previous poor service. The food has always been consistently good. So we tried again. Nope. We were ignored for the first 20 minutes. Then again after he got our drink order. We asked for rolls and were told they had rolls ready but no plates. Um, rolls come in baskets. So he brought salad bowls with the rolls. What?
We had to ask for everything. We had to wait for the check and then we had to wait for him to pick up our card. It was busy but not too busy - he walked past our table several times without a glance. What we witnessed was one of the most amazing managers, kindly, and thoughtfully managing a team. Of what appeared to be fairly new employees! I believe her name was Crystal according to our server and she was one of the most engaged and caring Managers that I have ever had the enjoyment of watching in action!! As we were observing her while waiting for our food, the engagement with each, and every employee was clearly welcomed by the employee, and the feedback she gave was very positive and encouraging! Of course, great comfort food is not typically my go to, but we enjoyed it and of course, will probably return based on Crystals direction of her kitchen, her weight, staff, and her engagement with the customers, and even the DoorDashers (which were aligned about the door.) I asked our server, who did a great job of communicating when the kitchen was a little bit backed up, if she knew how lucky they were to have such an amazing manager, she said that they did know and that theyâve been very happy since Crystal came on board with them from another store! Had to wait 10 mins after asking two times. Food was hot. Which is good. But when asked do you want tarter sauce or cocktail sauce for your fish& shrimp and the customer says yes .... That MEANS bring it out to them! So when my food came I had to ask for it AGAIN! Then my friend asked for gravy and ranch for her food when she ordered.... Guess what they didnât bring out đđđ yup didnât bring either of them. So we complained about the horrible service to the manager and even asked him for napkins again didnât get them. My friend had ordered chicken and it tasted like it was fried in the same oil the fish was and she didnât bother eating her food. Tried to explain that to the little darling waitress and ask if they fried it in the same oil it just went over her head. Sooooooooo to make things great the manager comes and says we can have free dessert to make everything right. đđđ YEAH RIGHT....
