Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Foley

Well about 8 years ago 8 or 9 of us went on a Sunday after church and everything was just NO good that day at all. So my wife and I stopped going for a good two and a half- three years. Well one night we wanted to give it another try and it was pretty good that night, so my wife works mornings until like 5pm and I work 7pm - 630am so we can't go out much maybe once a month to two but when we do it's between here and two other places in Foley since we started going back. Since then it's been decent every time besides once and it was something little so we didn't even say anything. So to now we came in Wednesday night 6-18 at 702pm and there was maybe 4 or 5 tables that had people so not busy at all. We got seated quickly. Server came and got our drink orders and when he brought them to us he brought me my blue adult drink but not the regular drink to go with it. I didn't say nothing I just drink what I had. Then takes our order and leaves. We don't see him for a good 45 mins to a hour when he brought out our food. My daughter, wife and myself all ordered steak. So after that long he brings out the food and all three steaks was burnt you couldn't even cut them. So i guess that 45min-hr the cook put them on the fire and walked away. We send them back and he comes out 10-15 mins later with the steaks. Two we just dealt with because they was more on the coming out of med to med well. My daughter cut in to hers and that poor girl freaked. The steak was not even cooked at all still that dark dark color when you first throw it on the grill but the outside had the black marks like it was cooked. So my wife just gave my daughter's her and gave the other one back and ended up telling them she just wanted her mashed potatoes and broccoli, so she didn't even really g get to eat that night. The gentleman never came back to refill neither one of my daughter's drinks or offer me another one. Then one of the busses said it was the servers first week and was supposed to be training but only one other server showed up for there shift. The whole time we sent our food back the manager on duty never once came out to ya'll to us. We seen him in the back office eating and then got up two or three times out of the desk and then a female walk in there. When he got up them few times he didn't even look like he was dressed or cared about his job. So the server brings or check and says we comp one of your steaks. Technically no you didn't because we sent it back and said don't bring it back after that mean times already. The only person that really help that night at our table was the busser I think he name was Kaitlyn or something like that. The deserts was good thought. So probably after this time we won't be coming back. Also we didn't walk out the door until 952pm. And that's us waiting, eating and leaving. I wish I would have to pictures now if the food but was not thinking about that...

Oh my gosh, nope. I have been to Applebee's all over the southeast, and have eaten at them for years. Tonight, I arrived with my wife and sons. I wasn't very hungry this evening and ordered some French Onion Soups and also got extras for the others.

When they arrived, all but 1 arrived cold. None of them had any soup in them. It was a soggy bread with cheese on top--no soup at all. The bowl was maybe 35% full in all. Mostly empty space. I have never seen my soup where it wasn't about to pour over the bowl. This looked as if someone drank the soup and gave us a bowl coated with cheese on the bottom. Yes, it was THAT empty.

I asked the waitress for replacements. She was very nice and apologized--only reason I offered them 2 stars. She, however, only grabbed two of the soups when all of them looked the same. So when she returned 10 minutes later, I kindly pointed out she needed to take the others also.

After another 10 minutes goes by, she came out and said those 4 soups she'd taken away were the last French Onion Soups they had, and they did not have any more to bring out. She asked if I wanted something else. At this point, I am now agitated. No, I don't want anything else. I only came there for the soup at this late hour.

So, I went to drink my tea and it was stale. Tasted like it was old and nasty. My wife ordered pasta and we took it to go so we could get out of there. No manager bothered coming out to talk to us, or anything. That truly left me most upset of all and made me sour. Neither me nor my eldest son ate anything as a result.

I complained about my tea also, and didn't drink it. My wife couldn't drink hers either--and it was flavored. She still left the teas on my ticket and charged me for them anyways--another $7 down the drain, literally.

Ended up paying nearly $33 after the tip I left for 1 order of shrimp pasta and a kids corn dog, and a terrible experience. At least they took the soups off the ticket.

I live here. I am a local who supports strongly the local businesses and have businesses myself. Due to this major fail, plus a poor experience on the previous visit where I brought a customer who'd never been to Applebee's (left me embarrassed suggesting this place), I am through. He complained to me for days after that.

I cannot justify ever going back to this location. I am so greatly disappointed. I wish now I'd taken photos. Doesn't matter anyhow. I'll take my losses and move my late night business...

This is the worse Applebee's I've ever been to. No, I am not negative Nancy or what has become known as a "Karen". I've attempted this Applebee's three times. Each instance has had the same staff member involved. First time I asked if I could place a Togo order, I was told no that I would have to come in since they closed soon (were open for another hour). So, I went in....ordered two plates for me and spouse to share with each other... one was to be a medium steak, but it was raw raw. I normally eat my steak rare, and couldn't stomach the steak so took it home to cook and just threw it away.

Second time, I walked out before I ever got a chance to order. Literally no more than 5 customers in the entire establishment with two and half hours until closing. Took over 20 minutes without a menu, drink, or service.

I asked tthe bartender if my party of three could just place a Togo order, I was told NO but then she would find someone else to take my order...20 min later...we walked out.

I tried to excuse that maybe the blue haired female working behind the bar does not want to provide service nor is able/willing to take a Togo orders and performs a different function in the restaurant.

Third time: We came in two hours before closing. There was at least 10 seated/active tables, with two servers and an empty bar (where they serve food). We sat down and when we asked for a couple menus, were told the bar area was closed. We did not mind moving to a table, but then the blue haired bartender proceeded to tell us she was closed because she was leaving because her babysitter was unable to continue to watch her children. Our new, male, server was delightful. He took care of our needs and handled my complaint professionally. I explained that I personally was okay without an alcoholic beverage, but the plethora of customers currently sitting and enjoying a cocktail and beer would be unhappy. He brought food, appetizers, steak, chicken, shrimp (although the steak was still not cooked appropriate/tastefully) he checked back to continuously make sure we were doing okay. I did not express the disappointment in my steak, because I already knew there was a back of the house issue. The front of the house issue was resolved, but I would not recommend.

Why three times??? The hours of operation meet our work schedule. Well, typically...not with this location. Unfortunately, they are not up to ours or...
