In our previous visits, my family and I have consistently enjoyed our time at Pancho Villas. However, our most recent dining experience left us feeling rather marginalized and did not quite live up to the standards we have come to expect.
Our server, instead of welcoming us with the customary warmth and hospitality we were accustomed to, he was rather abrupt and cold in his interactions with us. His demeanor suggested an unfortunate perception of us as less-than-desirable patrons, which was disconcerting given the significant amount we usually spend here. Despite our final bill amounting to around $400 for three people, and our generous tip, our interaction with him was far from gratifying.
To detail an example of his service shortcomings, my husband's meal came with a side salad and it became a source of unnecessary tension. Upon requesting Italian dressing, we were informed that it was unavailable. The same response was offered when my husband then asked for Thousand Island. Finally, when asked about available options, we were told that only ranch dressing was available. It would have been preferable had the server informed us about this limitation upfront, or at least provided the ranch dressing alongside the salad without prompting.
Furthermore, our server's absence was noticeable on several occasions when we wished to order more. Thankfully, the hostess was attentive and stepped in to assist. Despite our ongoing consumption of drinks and desserts, we couldn't shake off the feeling that we were being rushed out. This was perplexing given the ample number of unoccupied tables around us.
The whole experience gave an unfortunate impression that we were not welcome and encouraged to leave, a sentiment that was uncomfortable and unwarranted.
This unsavory experience casts a shadow on our previous positive experiences at this restaurant. We genuinely hope that this was an isolated incident and not a reflection of a declining...
Read moreI rate Pancho Villa’s in Fontana with 3 stars, mainly because of their top notch service and the mariachi show. The kitchen and food, however, are lacking in professionalism and flavor. First, our server was wonderful! We went to celebrate my mom’s birthday and he was very accommodating. Our server managed our expectations concerning food and drink wait times, which really helped us figure out what we wanted to order quickly. Secondly, the kitchen and food on the other hand need improvement. My parents ordered the molcajete pictures in this review. I ordered PV’s prime special that included a 10 oz steak, chicken taquito, and mole enchilada. I asked the server to ensure the plate didn’t have sour cream. Yet, my plate came with a taquito covered in sour cream. The server said he would take care of it and within 5 minutes I had a plate with a taquito sans sour cream. After further inspection, and after flipping the taquito around, you can clearly see that the kitchen staff merely wiped off the sour cream and put the same taquito back on the plate (as can be seen in the included picture). As if that wasn’t enough, the steak seriously lacked flavor, like the kitchen simply got the meat out of the packaging and cooked it without seasoning or marinating their food. Needless to say, my meal at $40, was an under seasoned sour cream mess. At the same time, don’t let my experience be what sways you from Pancho Villa’s in Fontana. The service is wonderful and the show is quite entertaining; just don’t expect their food to match the...
Read moreWe went the day after Thanksgiving to bring my family visiting from Florida so they can see a live Mariachi Band. Mariachi International de Mexico was excellent. Disappointed on the rest of the evening. Waited for drinks about 25 minutes and restaurant was not even half full. I asked for a Smoked Old Fashion and received a classic Old Fashion. Waiter assured me that was an Old Fashion which was not. Also no tap beer. My brother in law asked for a beer and waiter brought him a Margarita and argued that was he ordered. Service took too long of a waiting time. We had a party of 12 and 2 of our invites did not get their food with the rest of the group but waited 30 additional minutes for their dinner. Server did not explained Mar Y Tierra plate was very hot/spicy as I do not like hot/spicy food. It was full of jalapeños and only 3 shrimps in a $40 plate. My daughter’s calamari was refried and gummy texture. Food was served cold. We usually go to the location in Victorville which by far is much much better and less costly and superb service. Drinks and food overpriced. Extremely...
