Update 2025: no response ever to emails I sent from below; however, the food and service have been outstanding each week over the last six months. Definitely recommended.
Update: After posting the review, the owner replied publicly asking for an email. I sent an email, and have received no response after more than a month. This appears to be an attempt to pretend to care. Disappointing
Original review: We love the Morganton Jersey Mike's, so we’re very excited to see this one open in Forest City.
Week 1 - The place was overflowing, but they had a special team in, and sandwiches were made fast, fast.
Subsequently -- Unfortunately, repeated bad experiences.
Mobile Orders - Several Mobile Orders - Various promised times (typically 15 minutes). You get there after 20 minutes and find that they haven't even started your sandwich. You'll wait 15-25 minutes more.
Today. I get there on a Saturday, Google says 11:38am. There are two people in line to order (at the slicer). There are other customers but I don't really notice them. Four key employees in the front - slicer, the next one, check-out, and someone on the grill.
I'm third in line. We wait there for a few minutes with no one doing any slicing... A slicer comes up and then starts taking orders. She takes the order for person #1, #2, me, and person #4 who came in behind me. She doesn't write anything down, but clearly, she is remembering it without any trouble.
I order a "Full Size White #4". I'm not an expert, and don't know that there is no such thing as a Full Size. I meant Regular.
The slicer starts taking bread out of the bread rack and cutting in half, and putting next to the slicer.
Employee #2 - Standing there with nothing to do.
Slicer Starts cutting the cheese for all four orders (six sandwiches). Then each of the meats. I then say to her "I was trying to order a Regular, is that what I ordered?" She says no but then rearranges the bread to fix it.
Slicer takes several minutes to make the six sandwiches. Some are actually "done", but, since the ones that are "done" are out-of-order, employee #2 continues to just stand there.
Finally, all six sandwiches are sliced, and person #2 can start her work...
At that point, the slicer starts wiping down her machine. Some people come in to the back of the line, but, for several minutes, the slicer is mainly just standing there, really.
Of course, by this time, the checkout has been standing there doing nothing for a very long time.
At the end, Google says I was only there 18 minutes... It surely seemed like much longer... and, watching several employees do nothing for a combined 20+ minutes is irritating.
My current solution - when possible, I'm going to order an hour before I need my lunch... that should give me a better chance of the order being on time.
My longer term solution - once Chipotle comes in, I expect that I'll stop coming to...

If you want to cheat your customer, you will only lose business.
If you order a regular sandwich, which is 1/2 of their bread loaf, you get three slices of cheese and each meat.
If you order the giant, logic would say you get 6 slices of cheese and each meat.
That is not the case.
I watched my Original Italian giant being made.
5 slices of cheese 5 slices of ham 5 slices of prosciuttini 4 slices of cappacuolo 5 slices of salami 4 slices of pepperoni
Toppings.. Lettuce ok amount of lettuce Onion skimpy Tomato ok amount Pepperochini skimpy.
I watch the same sandwich being made for a dd order. Regular size, 3 slices of each item.
The ham is low grade canned ham. The prosciuttini just looked like a different version of the low grade canned ham. The salami was questionable. Very fatty, low grade salami.
The oil being used is absolute crap. If you want to use canola oil, don't call it olive oil blend. It had 0 flavor. The red wine vinegar is diluted, probably 4 to 1 ratio of water to vinegar. Again, tasteless.
This is the first sub sandwich I tried that had 0 flavor. Fortunately, we took our order to go and I was able to add ingredients at home to salvage my $20 sandwich.
My wife had the turkey provolone. Same bland nothing taste.
Customer service is lacking in that no one was smiling and only seemed concerned when they would get off shift.
Guess we will have to drive to Morganton if we want Jersey Mike's.
I ordered the original Italian from Morganton and it was incredible. Customer service was also top notch...
Read moreAbsolutely Horrible customer service! We ordered online with their website and our order was to be ready at 6:13pm. We arrived at 6:11pm and our order wasnt done (which I expected I like to be early). I over heard them say the cook was running behind a little so I didnt ask about my order I waited patiently. 6:45pm I asked about my order and was informed I was just waiting on two sandwiches (we ordered 5 total 2 adult sandwiches and 3 kids meals). So I proceeded to sit back down and wait mean while numerous other customers come and go all before I get my order. At 7:11 I ask about my order again, I was informed they were on the grill and it would be out soon. At that time there were 6 sandwiches on the grill so I believed them. I continued to wait. At 7:45pm I ask about my order again at this time nothing was on the grill.... They couldnt provide a reason why they wasnt made or what happened. I got my money back and went to another restaurant nearby. Once I calmed down and went to put my money and receipt away I realized they only gave me the money back for the sandwiches and not the entire order. I end up driving back and asking for the full amount back. When I did no apologies or nothing from them. I work in customer service and I even worked in fast food. This is absurd! I have been to the Jersey Mike's in Arden, NC and they are amazing but Im not sure if I will ever try this one again or if I would ever recommend it to...
