Izzy's - Forest Park — Restaurant in Forest Park

If there were a Zero stars I would have chosen it! Tonight on my way to work I decided to stop in at Forrest Park Izzy’s. WORST MISTAKE! The lovely funny, and kind lady at the counter, I believe her name was Bell was very professional and greeted me with the biggest smile and made me laugh with her humor and banter. Unfortunately within moments of placing my order 3 other staff members got in to an argument, the cook started screaming at the top of her lungs cursing, throwing items, threatening others while the older man watched and said nothing. Bell kept apologizing to all the customers in the restaurant, all the while trying to calm down the cook. Who should have absolutely been asked to leave because she was irate and quite frankly very scary. My order came to $49.00. After waiting for well over 20 minutes I called my bank and disputed the charges. Then waited an additional 20 minutes for my order! Total wait time 40 minutes! I was the only customer for take out. Two other tables were dining in and already had been eating when I walked in. I asked Bell if I could at least have free Motsa. She had to ask the old man and he reluctantly obliged. She gave me two! I have never seen such horrendous behavior in a restaurant in all my years! I felt more respect and admiration for Bell than anyone there because she kept her composure, showed every customer in the establishment nothing but professionalism, and gave the upmost customer service! NEVER AGAIN! Boyfriend an I ate here 12/29/16 The Staff was lazy, the food was horrible. One waitress for lunch and her elevator didn't go all the way up, full dirty tables and no help from the guy at the register who just stood there and watched and rung up a customer occasionally, or the guy with the ear buds who emerged from the back to remove the dish bin which wasn't even full. The food prep person didn't have time for anything. I believe everyone should help each other especially when your this busy and there isn't a table in the place. So sad I love Izzy's but this location sucks and the staff should be fired! We ordered Daily Specials both with Corned Beef and Swiss and Boyfriend as for no Potato Pancake and both of us got cups of Chicken Noodle Soup. Now here is what we actually got Boyfriend got Daily Special with a Grilled Corned Beef and Swiss a Potato Pancake which was soggy and he didn't want and a Bowl of Soup because the waitress screwed up and dished out Bowls instead of Cups. I ended up with a Grilled Corned Beef and Swiss, soggy Potato Pancake also and a Bowl of soup. Soup was sooo salty and had nine hundred pounds of potatoes in it. It didn't even taste like Chicken Noodle. We didn't have time to complain she dropped the stuff off and ran she was so busy she just left us......so this is why I'm ranting in this review! We never finished our lunches paid and left eww. I saw the other posts and reviews, but I'll tell you my experience was a nightmare hard to believe it was the same store....

Came in with my husband for carry out and the older lady at the register was EXTREMELY rude and we will not be back. We walked in, excited for my husband to try Izzy’s for the first time, and the lady who took our order had a very rude tone with everything she said to everyone, including being rude to her co-workers. The part that took it over the top was when my husband asked her if he could have the Monday discount applied to his order when she was standing at the register and he was waiting to pay, and she responded with a VERY rude tone saying, “Yeah when I get to your name!” We both looked at each other really taken back by how mean she was and was literally ready to walk out on his food at that point, because that is not how you talk to a paying customer who is simply asking a question.
