McAlister's Deli — Restaurant in Forsyth

People were nice. Food tasted superior.

We wanted kreckles next door to support the new movement of a local buisness. The other place had a giant line and I missed my turn and turned around in mcalisters parkinglot. Kreckles had a line around the building and mcalisters didn't have anyone in drive through. My family made our order. We added a French dip at the window that made us pull forward and wait on it which was fine. Waited just under an hour for our food eventhough we ordered first in line. Melt that I ordered was good but cheese wasn't melted sandwich was cold. French dip was same way. Mac and cheese was the warmest but equivalent to 15 seconds in a microwave. They are known for sweet tea the batch We had tasted instant just like you get from McDonald's every so often. Which was still fine as a buisness needs to keep running and sometimes they run out of products and need to adapt to substitutes. We enjoyed the food eventhouth it was prepared terribly I would have preferred it to sat under the warmer for our hour wait. Can't say it was ever toasted or warm as all the cheeses was freshly sliced still. Was a first for us because food can still be good when prepared terribly when you use quality products, but that was the difference between a good mean and a great meal for us. A little hesitant to go back and spend another $80 when things don't turn out the way they should.

Note: staff was nice and food was good. They wernt packed We were the first in drive-through. This should be a 5 star rating, but is a 3star because our food wasn't presented in a timely manner or prepared correctly. Just...

My family really enjoys McAlister’s food. It’s fresher and less processed than a lot of other options in the area and most items really are delicious. I’ve given this particular location several visits over the last year at the drive-thru and for in-store takeout, and there hasn’t been a single time my orders have been complete or correct. I’m ordering for no more than 3-5 people at a time, but something is always wrong or missing, whether I order at the drive-thru or from the mobile app. The staff at this location is friendly and the inside of the restaurant is always clean, but the management or ownership of this location clearly does not care whether anyone is working with attention to detail or accuracy. Usually I’m missing one or two small things. Tonight my order was missing an entire side dish, a drink, two extra salad dressings that I was charged for, and half the toppings for a baked potato. I couldn’t not leave a review after that. Especially since I have also had inappropriate substitutions made for items they were sold out of. Once, they were out of potato chips so they simply put a bag of Cheetos or cheddar Sun Chips or something similar and covered in cheese powder in as the side hoping it wouldn’t be an issue. Unfortunately that side was for someone in my family with a severe dairy allergy, so it was useless to us and we didn’t get a chance to choose a proper alternative or simply ask for a price adjustment on the meal for a missing side. Bottom line: for what they charge and for how long you wait for the food, this location just isn’t cutting it...

Have made pick up orders twice here and both times have been terrible experiences. First time we ordered online, we gave roughly a 40 minute advance notice since it takes us about as long to drive there from our house. I show up and pay at the to-go window and get my drinks. I figure the food isn't ready yet since the cashier just proceeded to help the next person. That's fine, I can understand it was pretty busy and a weekend. So, I stand up front waiting for another 25 minutes before someone at the counter realizes that my order has been sitting there ready to go since before I checked out.

We figure we would give them a second chance since the food, despite being cold, was good. So just today we order online again giving the same advance notice as before. After arriving, I go to the to-go window and have to wait 10 minutes for the cashier to take an order for a person dining in. Once it was my turn to get my order, they proceed to tell me that they have my name but not any of my order details. So my food wasn't ever being made. Im told sorry and if I remember my order so they can make it. Before I can even respond the person had walked off to take someone else's order. So I walked off too.

In short:

Gave this place a second chance. Won't give them a third. If you make an online To-go order prepare for the chance to be disappointed and wait unnecessarily, or not get food at all. Food is good even while...
