The "manager" of this location is a liar and a incompetent employee. I ordered a milk shake. Sat down. Wanted it for eating in. They never called my name. 10 minutes or so. With no other customers other than my family. They received half full chilis and the food was not good. I had to ask for my shake. The manager seemed to have an attitude. He went to the back for under a minute and returned with a to go shake. That seemed to have come out of the freezer. Not freshly made. I took it. Went to eat it And it was only half full of thick seemingly over frozen milkshake. And the other half was whip cream. I even, for some unknown reason, tipped the kiosk. When I ordered. I went to the counter to request a refund. And tell them why I was disappointed. The manager (it said manager on his name tag) told me that the shakes are not made by hand anymore it's all made by a machine. So half full milkshakes and chili, with elevated prices, I assume are the new normal for steak and shake. The manager was rude and seemed to not know how to issue a refund. I questioned him when he didn't give me a receipt for the refund. I requested one and he huffed at me. He then gave me a receipt that said only -4.99. nothing about a refund. None of my information. It didn't show the tip or the tax. I told him that this was not a proper return receipt. So he threatened to call the cops on me.... What professionalism!!!! Also while sitting in the restaurant a female employee talked badly and cursed about a customer ordering a large order of French fries. There was a small hand written sign on the door that said out of large fry cups. So I guess that means they have the right to yell about customers ordering large fries. She also approached me when I was 1st asking for a refund and tried to argue with me about it being out of anyone's control. What?!? Let's train your employees or close your restaurant. Ohhh yes. The cherry on top..... I was charged for the milkshake.... 2 weeks later!!!! This is fraud. I will be filing a report with corporate offices and the local health depart...
Read moreVery surprised to say the least. First of all there were 5 adults and 3 children all under the age of 12. We ordered cherry limeade and was given a cherry lemonade x4. Waitress was nice and courteous but then when she brought the ticket only two of the three children’s meals were taken off because children eat free at Steak and shake. So the bill was 48.00+. So when I went to pay I questioned that children eat free. The cashier proudly announced well for ever 9.00 and told me it was posted outside on a poster. So you spend $9.00 you get a child’s meal. Okay, so even if I spend $27.00 I still should have gotten the third child’s meal free. I hope someone can shed some light on this. Additional information. So I called the corporate office and complained, the lady on the phone was very apologetic. She was very careful to obtain my address phone number and a detailed complaint. Nothing has happened. No call from corporate headquarters, no nice letter. No nothing. Will not ever eat at Steak and...
Read moreI haven't been here in a few years and was surprised that now there are no menus, you order food on a kiosk up by the counter instead of a waitress/waiter taking orders at the table, which makes things a bit difficult when you have a family with kids and a disabled adult to order for. Upon placing our order, one of the people in our group had ordered a fountain drink and wasn't aware that there is a qr code on the receipt to scan to unlock the machine. He went to the counter to ask about it and the guy was very rude about telling him what he needed to do to work the fountain. Honestly, there is NO real service anymore other than actually cooking the food, and the rudness at a simple question was ridiculous. They then served the chili COLD. The kiosk asks if you want to leave a tip, why the heck would I ever want to leave a tip for ZERO table service, rude employees,...
