We had a super long drive, and it had ended up that our booked room for the night was aweful. It smelled so badly of mold that we couldn't go in. And of course, there are no refunds. Don't stay at the oceanside by Wyndham in Fort Brag! So we had to settle for motel 6 as they were the only place in town with a room at such a late notice. Kids were emotional and tired and crying. And we just wanted to get dinner and sleep the best we could. Our waitress here at this Denny's was so amazing. She turned both of my kids' sadness and tears into smiles and really made the night the best it could be for us. She went above and beyond to make sure that they had a good experience here in this place rather than a bad one. We are all so thankful. My daughter, who can go non-verbal sometimes due to her medical condition, was so touched she wrote a thank you note on a napkin for her to see after we left. We all felt peace when we were done with our meal, when we originally walked in with stress and emotions. I had not eaten at a Denny's in a long, long time, maybe 15ish years or more. And the food was good as well. They cooked the bacon to perfection for each kid who liked it different levels of crispeness, etc. Our meals were big enough we will have breakfast the morning after! Another huge benefit was they didn't even balk about my daughters service dog. Sometimes we go places and they have refused us service, (because people abuse this and bring their pets places and try to say they are service dogs. This makes it hard sometimes for those of js who have legit service dogs. Please do not be that person!) The staff here were just so accommodating, and this experience was just exactly what we needed that night.
Oh, also we highly recommend the fruit smoothies. The tropical one especially! It is amazing! Don't let the word spinach in the ingredient...
Read moreThis is the worst Denny's I have ever been in. My son and I stopped here at 9:30PM on a Thursday evening. The place had some customers but by far not very busy. We were seated quickly and was brought water. That's where the service ended. After sitting at the table for 20 minutes I was able to get the hostes to come back to my table. I asked her who was our waitress or waiter? I was told someone would be with us soon. After another few minutes and watching her take to go orders I asked her if she could take our orders. Her reply was she was not a server and could not take our order. Just a few minutes later she came back and took our order. Then it was another wait for our food. We waited and waited while watching other tables get their food and to go orders get food that came in after us. Just as we were getting up to leave some waitress came and slid an order of chicken strips across the table. She turned and walked away so fast we couldn't even tell her it was wrong. Another few minutes went by and I got her attention and we got refills and asked for sauce for the chicken fingers. She brought my food at that time and the wrong sauce for the chicken fingers. I did not tell everything that happened in this disorganized resturant but I hope if you are ever in Fort Bragg California you will not eat at the Denny's Resturant. I know I will never go back there again. This restaurant did not even deserve the one...
Read moreHorrible place. I've visited plenty of Denny's before, but this one is by far the worst. My family and I had a sinking feeling they were being racist. Entered around 6 pm and was quickly seated. Restaurant was almost at half capacity. We were given menus and offered drinks in the first 5 minutes. A table next to us with a party of 5 Caucasian was seated about 10 minutes after us. We sat, and waited, and waited. The table of 5 got their drinks and ordered by this point. We sat, still waiting to have our order taken. About 30 minutes later, we finally got a waiter to take our order. The table of 5 had already gotten their food and enjoying it by this point. And hour later, after the table of 5 finished their meal, packed their desserts and got their small child out of the booster, our food started slowly trickling in. 1 plate at a time. The main dishes arrived. Then the side dishes a few minutes later. We were a party of 7, spent a couple of hundred dollars to dine there, but was mostly watching everyone else around us get served, eat and leave as we patiently waited for our food. Worst part. The hostess saw us leaving to pay, she looks back at our table, sees we didn't leave a tip. Looks at our receipt, sees we didn't leave a tip, and asks rudely, "Would you like to tip?" REALLY?! We spent almost 2 hours here while the majority spent less than an hour, and you want a TIP? Sad, that...
