Golden West Saloon is the oldest operating saloon in Fort Bragg, California. Although there are different stories about when it opened, the building is said to date back to the 1850's. When you walk into this iconic bar, you will see it's beautiful Oak and Birch bar dating back to the late 1800's. My girlfriend and I were traveling from out of state. Upon presenting IDs mine was immediately thought as a fake. Being almost 30, I am comfortable with the bar tender asking for a second form of ID or discussing the ID with fellow staff. However, in this case both our IDs were passed around the bar to non-staff locals putting our identity and IDs at risk. Upon calling out the bar for this we received backlash and were told, "we were lucky to be able to stay in the bar with our IDs". I have never had this happen, ever. This was very unwelcoming.

Became quite snippy and unfriendly with the increasing crowd size. Made me a wrong drink and when I tried to ask for it to be fixed, it was snatched from me, tossed down the drain, with a 'we are busy' comment and then I waited another 20 minutes before i could ask them to replace it???
