This is my favorite place in Fort Collins. It's homey, and cozy, and it's the perfect place to relax .Or get things done. The patrons are so friendly, and intelligent and will have amazing conversations with you. The tea is authentic and delicious (I recommend Matcha) you get tea for an amazing price too. If you purchase one pot of tea, usually $3-5, you're actually purchasing two or three pots of tea, because they'll re-steep it for you. The whole building is full of good luck. They have a wishing wall in the back room, where you write a wish on a piece of paper, and fold it up and stick it in the brick. They have lovely journals to write in that you can leave charming notes, and look through others responses to brighten your day. I have gone there almost every day after school for about 2 years, and it's almost always the best part of my day. A cup of Matcha, a bit of music, a nice conversation, and a dash of luck, is what makes this place so fantastic. (google says most people spend about 15 minutes here, but on average, I spend about 2 hours...

⭐☆☆☆☆ Desperate Business Tactics on Display
Stopped by this teahouse and picked up a mug, unaware it had a loose cap without a silicone rim seal- like most capped mugs. The cap fell off and broke. Within seconds, a staff member loudly reminded me of their strict “you break it, you buy it” policy creating a full public announcement, as if I’d smashed a priceless heirloom.
Accidents like this are easily written off and a shop insist on charging $20 for a small, clearly unintentional mishap screams more about their financial health than anything else. If the margins are that razor-thin, maybe it’s time to rethink the business model—or at least the customer service strategy.
I was fine to purchase the capless mug, as the cost was low but charging for accidents is fantastically tacky and a red. My friends and family haven't returned and I suggest others think twice before supporting a place that values every chipped mug more than...
Read moreThis is perhaps the best tea shop I have been to in the USA. If you want to feel the specific type of “local” that Fort Collins does so well, go here, as by going here you are also getting a taste of other local places since HL blends unique, specific teas for local businesses/restaurants! You walk in and are greeted by super friendly staff and immediately see their Library of Teas, which just is a lovely sight! You can explore labels, do a sniff test, ask a bounty of questions to find just what you’re looking for, whether based on hot summer weather, indigestion, combating a cold, etc. Or have them make a tea right there for you — we love doing this after a hot hike or dip in the river to see what they recommend over ice! Happy Lucky’s blends their own tea blends to create the most wonderful teas but they also aim to educate tea drinkers on how to best brew a cup, make it iced, use tea to get rid of a headache, etc. I love this place so much and hope you give...
