12/24/24 I went to the Ft. Lauderdale location 2 years ago for Christmas Eve and was blown away with food and service. We attempted to go in 2023 but due to a fire, we went to the Deerfield location and did not have as good of an experience so this year, we returned to the original spot. Unfortunately, it failed to live up to the original experience. The service was not great. We waited 20 minutes for drinks and the place was not busy at that point (6pm). 30 minutes for bread service. The food was still good but we ordered the family style meal at $75 pp and added grilled octopus at $8 pp. The food was tasty except for family style they really skimped. The first year they were super generous. This year for the main the steak was small for 4 people and I swear we got 1 chicken breast pounded so thin and cut into quarters. I'm sorry that's not family style that's like my grandma trying to make a meal stretch on a tight budget. It was embarrassing. I think we will have to skip this annual tradition next year, which is a shame because the food does taste good and the concept of family style is appreciated but they've lost their "Italian" roots- they did not even offer 7 fishes this year. Sad...
12/24/22 My grandma recently passed and I was not very much in the holiday spirit. She embodied everything that Christmas Eve meant. I did not want to cook or celebrate so my husband suggested we go out to eat. No cooking or fuss and I agreed. I searched for last minute reservations and came across Patrizia's. My husband and my 2 stepsons were going to enjoy the family style meal because that's how Italians do it! Unfortunately, my eldest stepson had to cancel at the last minute because his grandfather was in the ICU. So it was a party of 3. We parked easily and stepped in for our 7pm reservation. The place was PACKED! I was a little worried but we were seated within 15 minutes of our reservation, which on a holiday I find amazing. Our server was Jhonny and first let me say that he was INCREDIBLE. Again, the place was filled with people enjoying their holiday meals and he still had a smile on his face while he hustled from table to table! We told him we wanted the family style meal and in a short time we were flooded with apps! My younger stepson (14) was overwhelmed and excited with all the options. He tried burrata for the first time and it melted in his mouth! He also really liked the calamari. He was drinking water by the liter and said it was the best water he ever tasted. His father and I told him it tasted like NY tap water, which we love. After we were stuffed from the the 1st course Jhonny slowed things down a bit and let us digest a bit before we had the most delicious pasta, steak, and chicken. Afterwards, we indulged on dessert. The cannolis are a MUST! I felt bad that my stepson could not join us and I'm already making plans for a return when he gets back into town so he can experience this with us. I felt my grandmother was totally with us because she was a terrific cook and made all of these dishes with love. The Manager, Dom was very gracious as well. Patrizia's knocked it out of the park for me on what was a sad occasion but turned it into...
Read moreI love this place overall! I have been here for several of my friend's birthday dinner's and the food/service/vibe has always been excellent in my experiences before tonight.
They offer a family style dinner with unlimited drinks and ~6+ courses for a very reasonable price per person. I've been here for many of these dinners and never had anything less than stellar things to say about this place.
Earlier tonight, I went for the first time with a much smaller group and we ordered individual entrees rather than the family menu. We are very much intending to try them again and hope this was a fluke, but we had a pretty awful experience tonight.
The waitress was kind, knowledgeable, and attentive to us. We ordered a round of drinks and a Caesar. I asked for a Peroni and got a Corona (no biggie) and my friend asked for extra dressing which was delivered after we had all pretty much finished the salad. No stress, it was good with the focaccia bread that became our whole meal. My friends ordered a medium rare prime rib and we ordered a cacio e pepe.
After about 30 minutes, we received our food. I swirled a bite of pasta and was met with severely under-cooked pasta. We aren't talking the debate over al dente, this was borderline crunchy bucatini. My friend started to cut his prime rib and came to find it was beyond well done. Rubbery to the point I could see tendons in his arm emerge as he tried to cut it. We all hate the idea of sending food back, and sending both entrees back at once felt really awkward.
The waitress acknowledged the issue and took our plates to have them remade. We then waited another 30 minutes to not receive any food. I watched the table in front of me receive a cacio e pepe 20 minutes later, while we sat there growing frustrated. Eventually, we just asked for the check for our round and salad as we had all lost our appetite. The waitress understood and apologized sincerely and offered to try grabbing our food from the kitchen as it was likely almost ready by then.
The manager came to us and comped our entire bill due to his team "dropping the ball" without us ever asking for any discount whatsoever. We tipped the waitress as if we received our original bill and promised we would be back again to give them another shot. The place was absolutely packed from the moment we entered, I'm glad to see they are doing well but we hope that success doesn't come at the expense of their customers.
We'll all be back for sure, but with a bit more caution as to what we might receive at our table.
tl;dr I still recommend trying them, just consider going on an off night or potentially being disappointed by non...
Read moreThe location in Fort Lauderdale service is horrible! I had a horrible experience Saturday night. I went in with my fiance which he is older than I am despite of the fact I do not care about the age difference as I am extremely in love with him. Moving forward, we sat at bar for dinner and the bartender served us both water and went ahead and proceeded to serve him ( my fiances drink). Moments went by and I'll figure, I'll wait for mine... maybe he forgot? (The bar and place was empty) ... The guy simply ignored me for the fact of being a woman and God knows what he confused me with... This behavior is completely womanizing towards women, discriminatory and unacceptable. I am a scientist, my husband to be is an Olympic coach. I never felt more disrespected in my entire life. So think twice if you want to take your wife, mother, daughter, sister or date to this place. You will be gambling on how you will be treated. The attitude was completely "gangster attitude" in the place, as the previous owner of the establishment was found dead in the everglades. Very weird vibe. Very weird place, I tried and I wish I didn't. I ended ruining my evening as I ended fighting with my fiance because I called the guy out on it. He was hiding behind the bar, I told one of his employees how wrong this behavior is for the city of Fort Lauderdale. It is not what we represent down here. There's tons of better places to go like cafe martoranos right behind the street which is amazing Italian or casa di Angelo 7 minutes away, cafe vicos around same distance, or Luigi's Italian grille and bistro mezaluna are fantastic places to replace these women haters discriminators. We shouldn't give a dollar to these types of establishments and get them out of our city. We respect people of all kind here in Fort...
