This might be a long one, and a lot of people might not read. However, I was not paid to write this review or any of my reviews. That being said, my friend Dave and I went to @Sapido Italian Restaurant for dinner for my Birthday. Please note that I'm Jamaican, and he is Italian. We have been exchanging cultural experiences. He made a reservation, but they take walk-ins if not busy, and you can all sit outside. Our serve was #Simona I think that is how she spelled her name. Dave and her were chatting about italy and where they came from the family background. I was listening as well. If you check the star, the service got 4 because I thought the bread should have come sooner when we sit, and the Oliver and Balsamic vingeratte should have been on the table before we got there. So let's get down to the food. The names of the were Rigatoni alla Boscaiola (homemade pasta, ham, mushroom, sausage and creamy Panna white sauce) that is what I had it was Great and well 😋. However, my Jamaican came out in me to add a little twist. I hope the manager for @Sapido try this that I am about to tell them. I added the Oliver oil and the Balsamic vingeratte to the dish. OMG, it was DELICIOUS. I cleaned that plate with some additional bread that my friend Dave as for, has he was showing me what they would do in Italy. 5 stars period. Chef kisses. Dave dish was the Gnocchi al Pesto it was great as well, and I did taste it. With the homemade pesto. It was really good. Let me tell you about the desert. Lord Jesus. I promise you should have a desert, but please try the Panna Cotta and the Tiramisu both are homemade. It was light, and it did fill the small space was let. Not sweet but delicious. (You don't need to mix both. You can have them separately) The atmosphere was family like and lovely, small but intimate and friendly environment. If you look in one of the pictures, you will see that the chef photo boomed one of us pictures, which was great. This was not expensive and you can have a group as well. Very beautiful, and I promise to go back and. Visit and hope they will get the 5 for service next time. Thank you, xoxo.

If you're looking for a genuine Italian dining experience in Ft. Lauderdale, look no further than the quaint and cozy little restaurant in downtown Ft. Lauderdale, on 8th St, Sapido, that I recently discovered. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with warm hospitality and a comfortable ambiance that sets the stage for a truly delightful meal. What sets this restaurant apart from other Italian eateries in town is the authenticity of its dishes. The menu is full of homemade pastas, hearty meat dishes, and fresh seafood options that are all prepared with traditional Italian methods and ingredients. The flavors are bold and rich, yet also have nuances that showcase the attention to detail and genuine passion that goes into every plate. One of my favorite dishes is the Lobster Ravioli, which is an absolute masterpiece. The lobster is cooked to perfection with a blend of spices that make it simply irresistible. The pasta dishes are also amazing, especially the Ladagna, which is the perfect mix of savory and sweet flavors. The staff at this restaurant is also outstanding, Mario, our server went above and beyond to make sure that each we felt welcomed and at home. He was happy to offer recommendations and suggestions for dishes or wine pairings, making our visit feel like a personalized experience. Overall, I highly recommend Sapido to anyone who values authenticity, quality, and an overall fantastic dining experience. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply craving some delicious Italian fare, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit. The combination of authentic cuisine and warm hospitality make it a true gem in the Ft. Lauderdale dining scene.

About a block and a half north of busy Las Olas boulevard, this small modern Italian restaurant is definitely a very good choice for fresh pasta, gnocchi, wraps, and salads. We had a little bit of a situation when we walked in at 6pm without a reservation. The place only had two other people eating but I guess we threw them for a loop. Even though their website says nothing about a reservation, I would strongly recommend having one just in case. The place is small and maybe that’s why they got flustered when we showed up without a reservation. We actually almost walked out because we didn’t understand what the big deal was. We were sat and our waiter was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. As an appetizer we ordered a bruschetta with blue cheese. It was delicious! With prosciutto and walnuts and Gorgonzola cheese. The lasagna is what they are known for so we tried that and the spaghetti carbonara. Everything was fresh and what I was most impressed with was that every single bite was tasty. The pasta was al dente, the ragu on the lasagna was yummy. We are coming back to try their pizza and other items but this time, we will make a reservation. There is no need to make the staff or the guests uncomfortable.

First of all, I have eaten at your restaurant over a dozen times - if you want to dispute this, I can send you copies of the credit card receipts. And yes, no one is perfect, but this was not about a person being late with bringing wine to the table, the wine never arrived at all! And also, no plates to eat the food!? - just awful service! And yes, if you make a mistake and are not perfect, then you should offer the patron something - like the glass of wine you never brought over, a desert, a token gift certificate or something to show the customer you really care. Hopefully in the future, you will use this criticism to improve the service at your restaurant. Instead of acting like you could never do anything wrong or excusing bad waitstaff service/behavior by saying something that is not true (like saying the wine was late when it was never brought to the table).

The food is good, but the service was very disappointing. We have eaten at this restaurant several times as we live nearby and like to support local establishments. But unfortunately the service tonight was subpar - the waitress forgot to bring plates for the pizza and the wine we ordered. After waiting about 5 minutes, we had to shout out to the bus boy for plates so our pizza would not be eaten cold. After our meal the waitress finally came over to our table and asked if we wanted dessert then looked down at the empty glass and apologized for not bringing the wine we ordered. Not sure if the restaurant is short staffed or the waitress was incompetent, but either way, that should not be the patrons problem. Of course that left me no choice but to reflect the poor service in the tip, which hopefully sent a message. No one is perfect, but after the waitress realized she forgot our wine (of course she had no clue that she also forgot to bring plates to the table for our pizza), she and the restaurant did nothing to make things right. If it were my restaurant I would have offered something after screwing up whether that be a free glass of wine, dessert or a token gift certificate. Instead they had repeat customers who will no longer...

I dined at Sapido with high hopes, being avid fans of Italian cuisine. However, our experience turned out to be disappointing, to say the least. From the moment we entered, the atmosphere seemed promising, with cozy decor and a welcoming ambiance.

As enthusiasts of Italian cuisine who frequently dine out, we eagerly anticipated tasting their carbonara, a dish close to our hearts. However, what arrived at our table can only be described as the worst rendition of carbonara we've ever encountered. The pasta was drowned in an overwhelming sea of saltiness, rendering it nearly inedible. As aficionados of this classic dish, we know that the saltiness should come from the pancetta or cured meat, blending harmoniously with the creamy sauce and perfectly cooked pasta. However, in this case, it was clear that the excessive saltiness was not a result of the ingredients but rather a heavy-handed approach to seasoning.

To put this into perspective, as someone with a high tolerance for flavor and saltiness, even I found it unbearable. Despite our attempt to communicate our dissatisfaction to the waitress, her response was dismissive, claiming that the dish was supposed to be salty, which contradicted our extensive experience with Italian cuisine. Furthermore, the owner's reaction to our feedback was disappointing, as instead of addressing our concerns, he seemed more interested in lecturing us on our supposed ignorance of Italian culinary traditions.

To add insult to injury, we couldn't help but overhear the owner and waitress complaining about our table from afar, which only added to the rudeness of their response. While we understand that taste preferences can vary, our disappointment stemmed not only from the overly salty dishes but also from the lack of acknowledgment and understanding from the restaurant staff. As seasoned diners who appreciate authentic Italian flavors, it's disheartening to encounter such a lackluster interpretation of a beloved classic. Regrettably, we cannot recommend this restaurant to fellow food enthusiasts, as our experience left much...
