The owner, ADAM FINE is the exclusive reason I will never return to Tarpon River Brewing. He proved in less than 10 seconds that he is an inhospitable, incorrigible, hostile owner and worst of all - a pathetic excuse of a man. My lady (who is anemic) and I showed up to see one of the bands at the 5th Anniversary party and were having a great time - the atmosphere, wait staff, and caterers were great to us. Eventually, the warmth of the night and the... you know, beer started to get to my date and we went to sit at one of the plastic folding chairs (that had been out there for hours). Apparently this was unacceptable and the chairs were a gross overextension of Mr. Fine's hospitality offerings, as he aggressively yanked the chairs from each of us. From a hospitality perspective, I thought it was bizarre that there was such limited outdoor seating in general, with a lot of beer flowing and numerous 55+ patrons, but Mr. Fine thought having ANY outdoor seating was too much for the guests paying a premium for his beer. My lady was rightly incensed, and when she went to confront him on the way out, his incoherent response was to somehow begin cursing at my date? As I tried to explain to him both the LIABILITY and laughable nature of denying paying guests a plastic chair, he told us to "get the f--- out" and devolved into an exchange of "f you's."
With no security within a mile, and only his young hostess and barback nearby, I wonder if he would've shut his big mouth if I looked like a Hell's Angel, or Mike Tyson lol, and not someone smart enough to avoid jail time over this pathetic weak man.
Anyway, the biggest shame is the example he provides to his young staff, the type of "man" he is, and the INCREDIBLY easily resolvable situation he decided to turn into a shouting match. IMO - The best way to convert a lifetime customer is to adeptly handle a complaint, in this case one that literally required a polite response and maybe even an apology. It's a lot to ask... I know. I regret having to write this, as I usually only review businesses I am enthusiastically supportive of, but the owner of this business has in his own special vein of gross immaturity, stoked my enthusiasm in the inverse. Staff are great, beer was good, food was good. The owner is a worm. Go to Invasive Species, or any of the other 18973435 breweries within a few minutes of this man. He doesn't...
Read moreI don't even know where to begin about this awful experience. This was my first visit to Tarpon River Brewing. We had ordered one of our entrees before 10 pm and then the second order 4 minutes after. Nowhere during that time frame did our waitress inform us that the kitchen was closing. It also does not state on the menu that the kitchen closes at 10 pm. If this was truly the case then not only did our waitress fail on her part but so did management.
I ordered my food a few minutes afterwards and moments later the waitress with the nose ring/blonde curly hair informs us that the kitchen is closed. Perhaps you should have warned me ahead of time instead of allowing me to place my order. No exception was made but popcorn was offered. I would have just dealt with the disappointment since my friend already received his entree.
But the experience went downhill from there. My friend politely asked our waitress if she could cut the chicken sandwich in half so that we could share the meal. After she came back from the kitchen she looked at him and said there wasn't any way she could separate the fries. Just the way she addressed him was not friendly at all. No one ever asked her to separate the fries and doing so wouldn't have made sense either.
As I tried to wait patiently for my friend to finish his meal. The employees amidst the slamming of the front door of the restaurant were installing lights in the middle of the restaurant. This is very unprofessional. I can understand if its a light fixture that needed to be replaced but this was not the case at all. It should be done after hours not while customers are dining in.
Towards the end of the meal, our waitress brought us the check. The entire time she kept walking over and peering to see if we were ready to pay. It was really irritating. She never even bothered to follow up with us to ask about the food after it was brought out. Where is the customer service here? Anyone? Conveniently when its time to pay she decides to magically show up. I just don't comprehend either why you would sit on a chair chit chatting away at the bar with a colleague 1 ft away from us.
I understand that this establishment may look fancy and try its best to offer great food. But if your service is not up to par then you're not doing yourself a favor at all. The waitress that served us tonight needs to be retrained...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of visiting Tarpon River Brewing, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that set the tone for a fantastic lunch.
The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the beer flight. The selection was impressive, offering a diverse range of flavors and styles. Each pour was expertly crafted, showcasing the brewer's skill and passion. From the smooth and malty lagers to the hoppy and bold IPAs, every sip was a delightful adventure for my taste buds. The presentation of the flight was also aesthetically pleasing, with each glass labeled and arranged neatly. It was a great way to explore different brews and discover new favorites.
One dish that stood out during my visit was the firecracker shrimp. The combination of crispy shrimp, tossed in a tangy and slightly spicy sauce, was a flavor explosion in every bite. The shrimp were perfectly cooked, tender on the inside, and crispy on the outside. The sauce had just the right amount of heat, adding a delightful kick without overpowering the dish. It was a true culinary delight that left me wanting more.
The service at Tarpon River Brewing was exceptional. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about their craft. They were more than happy to offer recommendations and answer any questions I had, making me feel well taken care of throughout my visit.
Overall, my experience at Tarpon River Brewing was nothing short of exceptional. The beer flight offered a fantastic variety of flavors, and the firecracker shrimp was a delectable treat. Combined with the friendly and attentive service, it made for a memorable lunch. I highly recommend Tarpon River Brewing to anyone looking for a great brewpub experience.
