This is a beautiful city park that is in between the New River and Las Olas Boulevard it runs along Andrews Ave to the west right at the foot of the Andrews Ave Bridge. It has beautiful palm trees, shady park benches and a band shell with a large open green area and it has state of the art outdoor work out equipment. There is even a GREAT Jazz Festival in the fall. That being said... now for my local tips. Stay away from this park it is loaded with homeless people that are schizophrenic and have mental issues. Also the park is a hangout for convicts that have just been released from the county jail just on the other side of the river. It really is a shame the city gives no help or a place for these individuals to go. The cops run them off the beach because of the tourists. So the poor individual has no other place to go The city runs the charity organizations out of the park so as not to have even more homeless in the park. They are just trying to feed these poor individuals. All this in the shadow of multi-million-dollar Condominiums that run along the New River. The area is absolutely beautiful Las Olas Boulevard has beautiful restaurants , chic shops and clubs and a lovely Museum right across the street. You would be a lot safer in a different area rather then this park. Read moreAs a tax-paying citizen who also pays a high rent for the “privilege” of living downtown, I must strongly protest and condemn the constant ear-shattering events that take place in this otherwise nice little park. There is no excuse for bombarding the neighbors with loud music and yelling through cranked-up loudspeakers every weekend, sometimes from before 7AM!! I realize that some are worthy causes that I even support, but the style is more that of a third-world slum than a world-class neighborhood. We already have a major issue with The Wharf just one block away, so dealing with yet another source of constant sonic mayhem and vulgarity is too much. What could be a wonderful neighborhood is increasingly becoming a hostile, noise-polluting and altogether undesirable place to live that will scare residents away with dire consequences for the local economy. City officials must take action before it’s too late. Something must...

The schedule as to the different events time happening are listed online. The celebration was so cool. It had face painting stations. They do a job on the painting, these ladieshave skills. The procession uses the back streets to get to Revolution. It is so cool to watch this huge puppets move. Some of the costumes very creative. This is a family and pet friendly park and event. The park. A parking garage is near and...
