New Year’s Eve was not a good experience. I will never go again to an event like this and pay for a table. A few dollars short of $1,500 paid for a “6 seater” round table. The quotations are there because it had two chairs. It took an hour to get the rest of the chairs (one by one and one. One I got myself) I so-called paid for. The worst part was that I had to ask for the chairs while I stood up so at least three of my guests could sit. I also had to ask for cups. Champagne glasses weren’t all there ( 4 were) and absolutely no cups for the “premium” vodka. The quotations are added because this was well vodka and cheap champagne. I don’t recall calling well vodka premium in my era but what do I know. I had a headache within and hour most likely due to the champagne and left the bottle of Vodka there at Wharf for next time. The juices on our table (pineapple and orange juice) had some sort of white matter that on the tip. I believe they prepped the tables prior to all the hustle and bustle but may I suggest checking the table before “sitting” the party. Can’t say sit being that I didn’t sit down for quite some time. Possibly not leaving juices outside for a matter of time that they may leave that 40 degree mark. It’s not really a good idea otherwise. It’s funny that the juices were covered but I personally could not keep the cap to the vodka or leave one bottle of champagne closed until we were ready to open it OR have the option to leave it there for next time, but four tables around me all had bottle caps still on after opening their bottles. I’m still scratching my head about that one AND the fact that our server took the table next to mine’s bottle cap and switched it to mine. Very questionable. I’ve seen people take bottles to their mouths and drink it, maybe spit a little back in the Boyle, etc, so that was kind of gross, BUT so is placing the beer cups our server took from another random table and placed FACE DOWN on ours for us to use. You could almost tell the server knew the few hundred dollars she would get for “serving” us was guaranteed. Another server had to fetch our server on three occasions while she tended to others that I can only assume were more important or personal friends. Had I received better service I would’ve ordered something else that I could tolerate drinking better, but like I said, poor service wouldn’t allow it. Our server did have time to talk and laugh with other customers while I waited though. I watched this several times and could describe each customer and exactly what they were wearing. I waited for her so long and so many times. Just to back up a little, when I first arrived I couldn’t even be seated because they thought they sat me already. It Took two additional people to figure out that I was not yet seated or checked in.
I understand it was busy. I understand it was new years. I also understand that people that have not paid for a table will sit at one anyways in a night like this and you may have to ask them to move. What I don’t understand is if you know you have a six top why would you not ensure six seats, six champagne glasses and six cups? ( if it were me, I would be looking to refresh those juices and ask if I would prefer another type like this don’t know CRANBERRY?! You know, the customer service route when you know your organization messed up) Did I have to be the one to ask not once, not twice but three maybe four times about the lack of seating because I said something as I was being sat by the host with the server right there. Even IHOP makes sure everyone has a place setting. Do you want people to return and pay prices like this or are you a tourist spot that thinks they have infinite customers for life? I’m so unimpressed for someone that worked the night life for over a decade. Highly dissatisfied and disappointed. Originally I thought the same wharf cared about the service they provide . . . Things have...

How about the remodel. Wharf closed for several weeks to 'remodel.' Was excited to come back and check it out. Almost nothing has changed except for removing a bar and making it a dance area, the main bar looks like it was redone and a food truck may have been taken away.
The service at the Wharf vs pre re-model leaves little to be desired. We waited roughly 8-10 minutes to get a drink on a Sunday afternoon around 2pm, from the main bar. The bartender wasn't friendly and seemed as it was an inconvenience for him to make drinks.
My wife was hungry and decided to get some food. You can not walk up to any of the food trucks at the Wharf and just order. When I tried to do that, I was promptly pointed to the QR code on the food truck and told "order there." After placing an order at the tacos food truck and waiting around 7-8 minutes, I went up to ask how we would be notified when the food is ready and was told to come back in 15-20 minutes. That's on top of the almost 10 minutes I already waited. For TWO tacos. After another 10 minutes of waiting we decided we didn't want to wait anymore and that it should not take over 20 minutes to make two tacos, I went and asked for a refund. The cook yelled "I'm making it now!" and not only didn't acknowledge me requesting a refund but made me stand there and wait while he just started preparing my order.
Lets talk about the food quality now, or the lack of quality. When you pay $16 for two tacos, you expect to get not only exceptional tacos but tacos of decent size and that contain a good amount of meat. These tacos weren't enough to feed a small child, they were so small. Truly unbelievably small. It also came with a handful of chips, I guess those must have been the bulk of the $16 cost. To say this taco food truck is a ripoff is a massive understatement. They should be ashamed with what they charge for what they are producing.
As a couple who would visit the Wharf on a semi frequent basis before, I can say, with certainty that we will never go back here again. Really disappointing, do better Fort...
Read moreI thought I would like the wharf until the experience I had. This was my second time going to the wharf and I experienced racism and colorism. I didn't want to think that's what it was in 2023 but the issue at hand showed the true colors of staff. We entered the wharf at 9:30pm and enjoyed our time for about an hour. We decided to leave to check out the bodega across the street for food. Once we were done eating, we went back to the wharf around 11:30pm. We were denied entry because someone I was with did not have on a belt. We were already inside the wharf at 9:30pm? The issue at hand is if that was the case, why weren't we denied access beforehand? We spoke to management and was told "he can't come in" and I asked him why are other "non-black and non-dark skin without dreads" allowed in even though they don't have a belt. He couldn't give me a definite answer. I am very disappointed. We are very educated individuals with degrees so I can understand there a specific guidelines and dress codes for a private establishment. I am just confused as to why we were able to come in once before but not a second time (in the same night) when someone different who was "non-black" was at the front checking IDs. The wharf needs to make sure all their staff understands the policies because we would have just not come in the first time if we were told this, which would have been understandable. The management (of white skin tone) also said "if you want to pull the black card, look who I work with" which sounds a lot like an excuse of "I have black employees" or the typical "I have black friends." The people you work with will not go against their manager because they want to keep their job and have a family at home, obviously. Again, very disappointed. I have heard that the Wharf security at the front are bullies but I just didn't know to what extent. Now I know. Thank you for the beginning of my night but I will forever be ungrateful...
