Konnichiwa — Restaurant in Fort Mill

GREAT sushi! We dined there on a Wednesday evening. We got seated immediately, there were plenty of seats available. Our waiter immediately greeted us and took our drink orders. They have a good selection of wines and beers. We got our drinks pretty quickly. Their menu is big with a LOT of sushi options. We did have to wait a little longer than expected to have our food order taken though. My wife has a gluten intolerance so the waiter had to come back a couple of times to present gluten-free options. Krab isn't gluten-free and we were not aware of that. Once our order was complete, we really did not have to wait very long for our sushi to arrive. Maybe 10 minutes, not bad at all. All of the sushi was fresh tasting and absolutely excellent. Great rolls! My 12yr old son recently started eating sushi and he absolutely loved his! He's a sushi fanatic now. Overall the dining experience was great. The environment, facilities were clean and orderly and can support a romantic evening or a family atmosphere. Only detraction is having to wait a bit too long, like 15 minutes or more after we stopped eating, for the waiter to take our plates and allow us to pay. Otherwise it was a great dining experience. (Fort Mill Location) I placed a call in order Saturday night around 9 pm. First they answered the phone like they were on a personal call. “Hello” I had to say is this Konnichiwa?” Upon placing my order I said I have a question. I would like to get the shrimp bowl but fried. He says grilled only they come grilled I said oh ok well I will take that. Then proceeded to say I want all vegetables except corn. He names them all out and says NO corn. Ok well I will take it. (End of call) well less than 5 mins I was able to find a menu and saw that there was a fried shrimp bowl (Bang Bang) I called right back explained my mistake and asked to change. A lady answers and she was worse than he was. I get to the restaurant they say pick up (and my name) I responded yes and are you the person I spoke to asking the lady I said ma’am you rushed me off the phone and was rude this heifer says yeah yeah. And then the guy wanted to cash me out and I was saying you guys were a little aggressive and rude he thought he could make it right by giving 25% off. I Should have left the food where it was but I wanted it and I was hungry. Needless to say that was probably my last take out from there for a while. Very disappointed with our visit here on 8/23. The food was lacking and our server although nice was hard to find. I’ve been a couple times before and haves ALWAYS been able to modify the bento box. I usually sub crab Rangoon for the Goyza (the give me one piece) and I am able to sub a veggie roll for the California roll.

Tonight I ordered my usual bento box and asked for the same modifications as I always do. I was not made aware there would be an extra charge until the bill came. $3.95 extra for the veggie roll and $4.95 for the crab Rangoon. It would he nice to know about the extra costs upfront vs at the end when it’s time to pay.

The veggies were hot and tasty but the chicken was super cold and the rice was very bland and lukewarm.

My bf got the filet sushi roll and asked to add avocado to it. He said the cream cheese was gooey and had an unappetizing texture to it. He said it was the consistency of chewing gum.

Our waitress was hard to find but we finally got her attention. He explained he didn’t care for the roll and she dismissed his complaint. She just smiled and asked if we needed anything else. Needless to say he didn’t eat the roll.

Our total was $39.74 ($46.89) after tip. They’re too inconsistent here for me and tonight was my last time coming...
