City Tavern — Restaurant in Fort Myers

Terrible customer service! I went to this bar tonight in downtown on Halloween. I usually switch between multiple bags and wallets and I dont prefer driving so I don't always remember my Iicence. When I ordered a drink and a bartender/waitresses asked for my ID. I told her im sorry I honestly forgot it. And she decided it was a good idea to tell me that I am not 21 and that I can't stay and neither can my friends who had already ordered drinks. They had to leave their drinks that they had already payed for in a very disrespect and rude tone of voice. In her situation it is fair to say I can't order drinks and to ask me to leave but she had no right to talk to me in such a way and tell me I am under 21! I would have happily left the bar after dealing with her attitude so my friends could enjoy their drinks instead of wasting their money. And if she had said something in a respectful manner I would have came back with an ID! The waitresses was wearing a superwoman costume. Never coming back...

I thought I found a new spot downtown… Sadly I was mistaken. The first 3 visits I had a great time.. most recently not so. The first time (in my life) I felt as if someone did not want to serve me because of the color of my skin. They ignored my sister and I and never acknowledged our presence. The bartender served the guy next to me and proceeded to count up her receipts. After about 5 minutes of trying to get someone’s attention, anyone who was behind the bar at the time was not serving any customers, I walked out. I will not beg anyone to serve me or to take my money! I don’t have to spend it with you! None the less I won’t be back, one rotten apple can...

7/22 1pm-ish Had some spare time, before a wedding reception, down the street, and stumbled across City Tavern. Our good luck! Bartender(esses) were all friendly and service was great! (I told you I wouldn't remember names...I'm horrible at that, but I do remember Hannah's name!) Next thing you know...the rest of the Wedding Party showed up (except for the Grooms)! We all enjoyed some pre-reception libations! Great atmosphere! Post-reception Hubby and I went back, to "decompress". Perfect spot! I had Hannah call the reception venue and ask for some wedding cake. Paul, from Downtown SOHO hand delivered! Great time in Ft....
