Arlie Muck's — Restaurant in Fort Smith

My friends and I came in to celebrate my friends 21st birthday. She was wearing a headband that said "finally" and a sash that read "21st birthday". When we stepped inside the two men at the door read these and one said to her "finally what?" She answered that she was finally 21. The other man responded, "It's not all it's cracked up to be" with a cynical tone. My friend has been raising her younger sisters since she was in her early teens. She just wanted to have a nice night and have fun to celebrate her adulthood after acting as an adult for years already and her first interaction at this establishment was condescending and belittling. It was the first and only establishment we visited for this night for that reason. After that we were served regularly and had a nice time for about 45 minutes. Later we were playing pool and the bouncer came to collect empty cups. He attempted to take an unfinished drink and when asked not to, gave a snide glare and no verbal response or attempt at an actual human interaction. We were not yet past our limit and nobody was being rowdy or loud or unbecoming. Altogether the atmosphere was uninviting, the drinks are average, and the space was cramped and dusty. And all of us that were in this party either do or have recently worked in a similar environment. We know good service and from the start this is not it. The one night she wanted to enjoy the most all year was tainted in the first minute of arriving and made my friend question whether or not she should've just drank at home on her 21st birthday. The most chill bar in the fort. Best atmosphere, great staff, awesome place to just be in. The building is full of history, and the head honcho, Phish, is always happy to suggest a drink or just chat about the goings on and history of the place and locale.
