I typically hate giving bad reviews but if I could give this business zero stars I would.
I went in because someone had told me they go to one specific nail tech here and they loved it. My friend and I called and booked an appointment hours beforehand and we arrived they made it seem like they were too busy to take care of us. We simply asked for a regular pedicure and both of us wanted a full set of nails. After being there for literally 5 minutes, we were being tossed to different people and rushed around and it was so much more stressful than it needed to be.
Finally sat down at the pedicure chair and the pedicure began which was fine. I got a normal pedicure with regular polish and so did she. After she was almost done painting my toes the nail tech came to do my nails which I asked for acrylic and then french tips and a design. ( she stated she didn't have time to do the design so I settled for a chrome overlay). Not only did my nails look absolutely TERRIBLE, so sloppy, had bubbles in the acrylic, and she didn't add any cuticle oil or lotion to complete the manicure.
I went to pay and it doesn't matter what you ask for they are going to charge you $60 for a full set plus whatever you ask for. I paid $60 for acrylic with gel even though I had no gel on my nails, $15 for french tip which takes 30 seconds and looked awful, $15 for chrome and they charge you $5 for shaping no matter what you ask for.
I went back the next day unsatisfied with my service and the guy at the front had the nastiest attitude and the manager or owner tries to gaslight you into thinking the nails are fine and the pricing is valid. The nail tech who did my nails originally came over and said she didn't see anything wrong and I stated well I want them redone or I just want my $100 back. She then proceeds to laugh and walk away. The sweet girl Payton who took off the french and just painted with gel was a very sweet girl and I appreciated her. I never got reimbursed for the chrome but was reimbursed for the french tip and I tipped that to her.
I also might add I let my toes dry for over two hours and still the paint never dried. So I also asked them to fix those and that took over 30 minutes. Do not waste your time, patience or money here. They do not value customers and only care about getting you in and out while upcharging you...
Read moreThis was my first time at this salon, and unfortunately, it will be my last. I've heard great things about other locations, but this one greatly disappointed me. I left injured.
While my pedicurist was polite, the service was far from safe. During the callus removal, she scrubbed aggressively with a plastic tool and moved to the inside of my foot without checking the thickness of the skin. I don't have calluses there, yet she scrubbed just as hard. I pulled away and told her it hurt, but she simply placed my foot back in the water and moved on. I asked her to be gentler with the other foot, which she was, but by the time she walked away to get other supplies, I noticed stinging in the foot she had scrubbed earlier. When I pulled it out, I saw two open cuts where she had rubbed away skin. I told her I had been hurt-she apologized but then proceeded as if nothing had happened, attempting to apply hot wax to the injured foot. I had to repeatedly stop her from using products on the wounded area and ask her to rinse it and provide a bandage. She did so, but immediately asked for payment-even before the service was completed. To my surprise, she came back with a smile and saying she gave me a 10% discount. I was left angry and disappointed. My friend stayed behind to speak with the manager, who initially offered only 30% off my next visit-as if I'd ever return. After a long discussion, they finally agreed not to charge me for the pedicure, but that doesn't erase what happened.
This experience highlighted a major safety concern: the staff seemed unprepared to handle injuries in a hygienic, or professional way. In a setting where infections can easily spread, this is...
Read moreOn 09/09/2025 I visited Onyx Nail Bar for what will be my last time. I’ve been a loyal customer for years, but this experience was beyond unacceptable and has completely turned me away.
During my pedicure, the technician was extremely aggressive with a buffing block and cut both of my big toes within minutes. My right toe immediately started bleeding, and instead of stopping or apologizing properly, he shoved my foot back into the tub. He then sprayed alcohol directly into the cut and, shockingly, rubbed lemon slices and a sugar scrub into the open wound while I was visibly in pain. My friend, who was also getting a pedicure, was cut during her service as well.
Rather than handling the injury with care, the technician dismissed my discomfort with repeated “you’re okay” comments and applied what seemed like a liquid skin product over the cut—essentially sealing lemon, alcohol, and scrub into the wound. I left limping, in pain, and in disbelief.
Now, five days later, I am still unable to wear normal shoes, and my toe is infected because of the negligence and unsanitary practices here. What should have been a relaxing self-care appointment turned into a painful and dangerous experience.
Please think twice before coming here. Paying $80+ for an infection and days of pain is not worth it.
