So every year I go to the Anthropologie store in University Park shopping center in Fort Worth. I go to buy a holiday blouse for my Christmas party. In years past I have always been treated respectfully.I now believe that they treat you according to how you are dressed. If you don’t meet their standard of let’s say “proper attire”you are not treated with the same respect as others. I went straight from work, walked the entire store. Was helped efficiently. But was then made to stand in line while 2 employees rang up one person. No one ever spoke to me while I waited in line, they just continued to hover over the person in front of me spending probably $700-$800. I’m trying to buy 1 blouse for $100. Not good customer service! Was not acknowledged by the 2 behind the counter. Picked a 2nd $100 blouse, got back in line. Never left their sight! Still no acknowledgment, making eye contact with both females behind the counter…… Put 1 shirt back on the rack, left the 2nd blouse laying on the display at the line. Still no acknowledgment. They see me walking out!!!! I call back and say can you please hold that blouse I laid down ? behind the counter. Go back today to get it, no blouse behind the counter. I pick out another blouse,I’m very put out with their customer service! If you’re not spending $800, I guess you don’t matter! Shirts going back! I’ll go to Neiman Marcus! I’m greeted with kindness, and treated respectfully. Not like a pauper. My client told me they treated her the same way and followed her around the store like she was going to run out with the clothing she tried on. She said she thought they did it because she was Hispanic. Can’t wait to tell her they aren’t racist! Not everyone goes into a store dressed up to buy clothing. The way you look, should not determine how you are treated. On a lighter note this client works at Neimans…. I’d rather give her the commission, and leave Anthropologie to the Boho judgemental drones that float around the store looking for their $800 sale. Get more $100 people in and out! You still...
Read moreI saw the most gorgeous shirt I’ve ever laid my eyes on in the sale section but it did not have a sales sticker. I asked one of the employees if they could tell me the sales price and she informed me that the item wasn’t on sale. I got a weird vibe but when she asked if I was still interested, I ultimately decided against it. When I left the store and arrived home, I could not stop thinking about this shirt. I was OBSESSING over an article of clothing. So I swallowed my frugal pride and looked it up on Anthropologie’s web site. Imagine my reaction when I saw that the shirt WAS on sale. I ordered it only to receive an email four days later saying that the item was actually universally out of stock. I rushed back to check and it was nowhere to be found. This is only the most recent bad experience but there have been several that have put a bad taste in my mouth for this location.
I love Anthropologie but I think it says something that I will usually avoid this store and just order from the website or I will just make the trip to Northpark. I always find the employees to be condescending and unhelpful. Some of them (very few) seem to be genuinely nice but they don’t make up for the otherwise...
Read moreBeware the terribly unhappy and condescending lady with the shaved mullet who very confidently told me, “ This is the one day a year where we can’t sell shoes” as I’m trying to exchange some shoes… then she is corrected by one of her fellow employees and she actually argues with her in front of me about selling shoes today. It was so bizarre. The costumer service is pretty terrible here. One girl helped me out and was pleasant, I think she also overheard me talking on the phone about how I can’t get any help in there… then I had to get back in line to purchase something and got mullet lady to my dismay… “is this a purchase or an exchange”. Like common lady. Get her off the register. Not to mention, she ran every dollar I gave her through a machine to make sure I wasn’t giving her fake money. I wonder if she would do that to the wealthy older lady coming in the store purchasing with cash. Doubtful. No thank you just attitude. Some people should just not work...
