Had the worst and most uncomfortable visit in a business establishment that I've ever had in a long time while eating dinner with the family at Cheddars this evening. Of all nights this was after we celebrated our sons bday at Main Event across the street. We decided to grab dinner after with good friends of ours so our party was a large party. Waited 20 minutes for our table which was to be expected. First the drink Order issue. Everyone had drinks on their table and appetizers at this point except our diabetic son who had asked a few times at this point. Next our waitress acknowledged our sons bday and offered a cookie on the house..we thanked her and accepted the offer. Our server came back with the restaurant policy is that they come at the end of the meal. That was also fine except for our son wasn't having a full meal so we requested that he have it then. She went to let her Manager know who had an issue with that. We let the manager know that if we our allowing our son to have the treat as his parents why wouldn't they bring it out when requested. Even if we needed to pay it. Manager argued this and ended up bringing it to the table herself. Third, I ordered a salad to be brought to table before dinner. I was asked if I mind that it came with dinner since dinner was already ready to come out to the table. I wondered why I'd even be asked what I wanted if I ultimately I didn't have a say. Frustrated with the service, I went to the hostess stand to discuss my frustrations with the overall service with the restaurant as a whole. The manager ultimately apologized and said she would be removing the server assigned to us with another one who could handle the amount of people we have at the table. She blamed the server for the cookie situation and did not accept responsibility for not wanting to give it us when requested. As we are finishing our meal the new server came in and the previous one goes to cleaning her section she was assigned to which was right next to our table. She came over to apologize because her manager had yelled at her. My husband walked out to get the baby's diaper bag from the car. As he walked out, he overheard the manager bad mouthing us to the ladies at the hostess stand saying they probably are just trying to get food for free, which at the time my husband made eye contact with her so she could see that he was around to hear this. When he walked back in, the same manager disappeared from the area. Overall the quality of the food was good. The drama that the restaurant provided was not necessary. Clearly could use better management if that's the best they have they should re think. Felt bad for the waitress as it seemed she was being bullied by her manager. If her manager knew she could not attend a large party they should've assigned someone else from the start instead of "drag her through the mud", as a result we did tip her even though the service wasn't the best. Our family will never go back to this location, instead we will visit our favorite location off Lake Worth. Spend your money elsewhere where you will get great food and service. I hope the waitress gets a better job than to stay working for a manager that bullies her. In the future it would be more professional that if you are going to talk trash about your customers that you make sure they...
Read moreI was disappointed in all aspects of this particular Cheddar's. When seating us, we told the hostess we were expecting one other person and as we were being shown a booth, one of my friends said, that we would have 3 more people join us not just one. So that created some confusion, and the hostess walked away, leaving us standing in the middle of the restaurant. We walked back to the hostess' desk and she said it would be a few minutes(which was fine, but it would have been nice to be told immediately and not leaving us standing there in the middle of the restaurant and trying to figure it out on our own). The waitress was mediocre at best. When bringing out my order(steak and ribs) with 2 sides(I chose corn and broccoli), she forgot to bring the broccoli and when she asked what else we needed I said: my second side - broccoli, she brought me green beans. I also asked for steaksauce, and she brought an almost empty bottle that was all sticky on the outside. This brings me to my next point: the quality of food! If you check out my previous reviews to two other Cheddar's(they were outstanding, especially the ribs! So I expected a similar quality at this Cheddar's). Unfortunately, yet another disappointment đ My steak was supposed to be cooked to medium with a pink(not bloody) center, that didn't work out, the juices were running red on the plate once I cut into it. The ribs were cold and dry. My ice tea tasted "fishy" (when googling it, I found it may mean bad storage conditions). My granddaughter wanted a cheeseburger with ketchup and mustard only but received one meat and cheese only. Her fries looked like they had been on the bottom of the vat and had been fried more than once(see the photo I added). My summary: The only great thing I encountered was the massive fan on the ceiling. It was a great choice in design! My recommendation to the owner/manager: additional training...
Read moreAs someone whoâs journeyed the globe seeking out culinary gems, Iâve had my share of cheesesteaks â from the legendary spots in Philly to ambitious takes across continents. And Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen? They didn't just nail it; they set a new standard, especially for takeout. Itâs truly impressive to find this level of execution from a brand I know and trust, right here in North Richland Hills.
Stepping in from the Texas heat, anticipating that first bite at home, the aroma from that container alone was a promise. And my word, what a promise kept. The Philly Cheesesteak was pure artistry. The steak? Perfectly thin, with that beautiful sizzled char, and loaded with rich, beefy flavorânever greasy, always tender. The cheese was a glorious, molten dream, perfectly folded into the meat, giving that ideal gooey stretch you crave. And the roll? It held its own, a perfect blend of crusty outside and soft inside, soaking up every bit of deliciousness without ever getting soggy. Even after the drive, this masterpiece arrived in impeccable form.
Then there were those golden hot fries. Not just a side, but a star in their own right. Visually perfect, they were astonishingly crisp on the outside and wonderfully fluffy inside, staying piping hot through the entire meal. Seriously, a masterclass in what a fry should be.
To the Chef(s) at Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen (and your dedicated team): Take a bow. You've clearly poured passion and precision into every element, consistently delivering quality that stands out. You didn't just make a cheesesteak; you crafted an experience that resonates, even from a takeout box. This isn't just good food; it's food that makes you smile. Thank you for this exceptional culinary journey. Youâve definitely earned my...
