We were greeted warmly and very friendly when we walked in and made to feel right at home immediately.
One of our party was running a touch behind us (about 10 minutes) but we were still seated as soon as we walked in and recieved our drinks and chips and (bland) salsa within mere moments. We were certainly off to a wonderful start. Our server checked back with us a few times, always friendly and smiling, and we never felt rushed at all. Once our fourth member showed up, she was greeted quickly and had her drink within seconds it seemed. After a respectful amount of time our server returned to check on us and we were ready to order. She answered the few questions we had in a very knowledgeable, polite, and absolutely friendly manner. The service and friendliness lacks nothing here - everything I could possibly desire.
Our food arrived in a prompt manner, hot (and not hot with hot plates, having been put through an oven on the plates as is occasionally the case in some restaurants, but genuinely hot food on plates that were handled by both the server and us with no concerns), fresh, and looking good. Let me start off by saying that I did enjoy the rice - it had a distinct flavor that, alone, would cause me to return, however, for me, that is where the enjoyment of my meal started and ended. I had the carne asada and was deeply disappointed at the flavor, as it was certainly not the tasty mouthful that I've become accustomed to enjoying. The beans were, unfortunately, flavorless as well. I took bites of my wife's dishes as well. The cheese enchilada was disappointing with the cheese, and, again, the seasoning on the taco was simply lacking. The tortillas, which some rave about while others do not, were exactly the same for us- mine was very good, while the one my wife recieved was not (proving, however, that they are indeed very much homemade).
I can't recommend Dos Molina's, but I certainly don't NOT recommend it. It simply did not work for me. Perhaps we simply did not order the right items off the menu. The service was extraordinary, and oh how I wish the other places we go had service as...
Read moreThis is not the place to come for delicious authentic Mexican food or for great customer service. This little place set just a couple of blocks from cowtown was horrible. I wouldn't recommend it. From the dirty restroom, to the lack of service, to useasoned food, I gave this place a two stars but why it was horrible. We walked in to the restaurant, this was our first time ever being there and there were at least 5 servers and a manager standing talking, not one greeted us. We were seated almost immediately, never greeted simply seated. Once we were seated it took over 10 min before anyone asked if we needed anything, which made no sense because we walked through at least five servers and the manager. While we waited for someone to serve us, we noticed a wait staff filling up the salt shakers and she sneezed into the salt, no care in the world of what she did. She sneezed into the salt. She then proceeded to lean over us to get our salt shakers, but not once excused herself or asked if we needed anything. If you need to go to the bathroom be prepared to stand in line since there is only one for each sex and its dark in there, its dark because the restroom was not clean. I ordered shredded chicken crispy taco plate. The chicken was dry, tough, and unseasoned. It came with rice and beans, but both lack flavor. The waitress wasn't attentive and be careful Dos Molinas add an extra 40% to your ticket AFTER they've run your card. When i notice the extra on the receipt and questioned the charge the watress said "yeah it a 40% charge if you use a card, its better to pay cash" I replied "it would have been better had you mentioned the extra charge before you ran my card, as I I stated this is our first time here". She didn't seem to care and wondered how many others customers they have forgotten to tell. So this wasn't somewhere I'll ever go back to again. The entire experience was horrible. I'd have to state that Dos Molina is lacking in customer service, cleanliness and good food. The only thing good was...
Read moreMy friends and I went to this restaurant on a Saturday night on our trip to Fort Worth stockyards. The restaurant does not look fancy from the outside, but it is quite cozy inside and the food is good with a big quantity.
The restaurant provided us with free chips once we were seated. The red salsa was a little bit spicy, but went well with the chips.
We ordered the bean and guacamole nachos as our starter. There was a bunch of cheese on top of it. It goes well with the crispy chips, guacamole on top and the beans.
I ordered the barbacoa dinner after asking the waitress for a recommendation. Once the dish was served, I was stunned. We ordered the nachos because we were afraid we might not order enough food, but we were wrong. The plate was big. The barbacoa piled up and accounted for at least 1/4 of the plate. It is enough for 5-6 normal sized tacos. The other food (beans, rices and lettuce) accounted for the rest of the plate. The barbacoa was soft and well seasoned. I had tried barbacoa from different restaurants and this was one of the best I had ever had. Also, the tortillas were really good. They were served hot and soft. The flour tortilla was huge and thicker than most of the flour tortillas I had ever had. The corn tortilla had a strong corn flavor, which I like a lot.
One of friends ordered a Ryan’s Carnes Asada. The beef is pan fried with the onion. The beef is soft and also comes with a larger quantity. The other friend ordered the fajitas tacos. It comes with 3 beef fajitas tacos. Each taco is served with two pieces of corn tortillas. The beef is soft and well seasoned. They like their dishes a lot also.
Overall, I highly recommend people to come to this place when they visit the Fort Worth stockyards, which is about 10 mins walk or 4 mins drive from the restaurant. It provides food with a good price, quality...
