Five Guys — Restaurant in Fort Worth

Being my first time and reading all the great press they have gotten over the years, I was looking forward to trying their burgers and fries. Let's start with the good. Tasty, both the bacon burger and fries had good taste and salt on the fries was good though quite a bit. Size was decent but for the price I expected better in terms of size and taste. Fries were good but I wouldn't say something special. Pricing for both the fries and the burger are out there. 11 bucks just for the burger and 8 for a large fries that I shared. That was part of the negative. The place is clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. They have great tasting peanuts that you should try. Is this a great burger, no. It's good, no where near great. In fact I don't think anything was great other than the staff and peanuts. You can find better burgers and fries elsewhere for the same price or cheaper. The tastes of both burger and fries were good but nothing I would say you need to run and try. I would say if you want to try it go for it but you could do better elsewhere. I went here for nostalgia’s sake, I haven’t been to a 5 Guys since Obama’s first term when I lived in the D.C. area when they were just getting big. The food is decent, but these are some of the most out of pocket prices I’ve ever seen for fast food. I felt like I’d walked in and been teleported to California seeing what they’re charging.

They actually forgot one of the burgers in my order (a little cheeseburger, which is TEN DOLLARS), but I came back about an hour later and the manager Aracely was very polite and apologetic and refunded the burger plus a $10 gift card. I was going to leave 2 stars, but she bumped my review up to 4. Great customer service and the food is as good as I remember but I don’t think I’ll be back until the prices are back under control. I know everything is high right now but this is getting absurd. In case corporate is reading this, if I am going to pay dine-in prices for fast food, then I am not going to eat fast food. Fast food is what you get when you have $18.36 in your bank account and you don’t get paid for two more days. I think a lot of places are forgetting...

Walked in today to order some dinner. Ordered 1 little cheeseburger 1 regular cheeseburger both with fries and two milkshakes. Guy at counter had marbles in his mouth and you couldn’t understand anything he was saying. I tried to tell him what I wanted on the burgers 3 times. He couldn’t get it right so I just said forget it just don’t put any mustard on it. Waited 20 minutes for my food. They did the milkshakes first so they were sitting there getting soupy while I waited. Because I had waited so long I didn’t bother to check my order before I left because now I was in a hurry so that’s my bad but how do you screw such a simple order up? I get home and only one burger and one order of fries. Didn’t get it right on the receipt either. I guess you have to double check everyone’s work these days. I called the store when I got home and they offered to make the rest of my order. Sure because I want to drive 30 minutes round trip in the rain to get my dinner thanks to your mistake.
