This was Sunday, Sept 1, 2024 130pm. The numbers... -Food, too much stuff that was not, at least, warm and it seemed to be missing a lot of standards, and only vanilla ice cream in the shift serve, so no swirl, so 2 to 3 service, our waitress was sweet, but not highly attentive, but still ok, so 3 to 4. Other waiter was questionable, to say the least. atmosphere, well, it's golden corral, but at this one I felt a cultural uncomfortableness. price, too high, but those are the times. overall, it was "lower ok" and I will not be returning, there is plenty of competition for my business. Read on, if you want the details. First, wow! Almost 80 bucks coming in the door for 3 people. Second, there was a black waiter (only mentioned due to later incident, for perspective, that still may not be relevant, but could be). He was trying to usher us into his area, which was very packed already. We sat in the next area, to which he said, "we'll you can sit where you want" in a nice way, not hateful. I had my salad, with which I always start. Very good, plenty of toppers, though tomato wedges and none diced, and onion wedges, no diced. Next, fried chicken, a chicken drummette unknown flavor, a chicken drummette, maybe a very mild buffalo, a boneless buffalo, and a roll All very cool, no warmth at all. In this time, my female friend gave the aforementioned waiter an "excuse me", to which he replied, "You'll have to wait, a lot of people ahead of you", though he never returned to us. She was going to ask for a spoon because she always eats with a spoon. Coincidentally, someone in his area asked for a spoon at the same time, which prompted him to tell a story loud enough for the entire restaurant to hear. He said, "we don't have spoons anymore because people keep stealing them, so they don't give us spoons anymore." Next, I had a medium well steak and steak fries. Steak was good, fries were the color of raw potatoes and soft, just barely could be called cooked, but they were cooked. Steak was hot, and potatoes were warm. This part has nothing to do with the restaurant, just the atmosphere. A black (just for perspective) lady sat two tables behind us and grumbled about being surrounded by white people. At the same time, another, very nicely dressed, older black couple sat directly on the other side of us (ties back to the beginning). Next, I had some fried fish, lemons, and another piece of fried chicken. It was all good, and this chicken was right out of the fryer, so hot. The previous cool chicken wasn't the last. It was piled high also. At this time, the black, well dressed man, that sat next to us, asked for a spoon from the previous waiter, who worked the next section, which gave the "spoon speech" earlier. Read moreThis is ONE of most unsanitary GOLDEN CORAL BUFFETS I have EVER VISITED. I can't believe this place is still thriving!!!! ALL of the Golden Corral's have fallen off since BEFORE COVID-19... since everyone keeps making that THE excuse for lack thereof. I knew that when we walked through the doors, from the nasty stinch Ismelled, we needed to turn back around and leave. However, my husband had already gone to the register and paid for myself and our grandson. I found a table, then walked around to look at the food. Second que to leave. Here it was a few minutes from 2 pm in the afternoon, and BREAKFAST food was STILL out. Looked like it had been there for days. I went back to our table and said to my husband we shouldn't eat here. He already knew where I was going because I could tell by the look on his face he KNEW he had made a bad choice by staying. However, considering he had already paid, he triiiied to find some good in some of the food. Let's just say it didn't happen. I finally decided, okay, let me go see what the fish looks like, maybe I can stomach that. NOPE, NOPE, NOPE, and NOPE!!!! I asked one of the male servers how long it would take for FRESH fish to be cooked and brought out. 15 minutes, he said......they came back out with the SAME fish. I refused it and told them all you guys did was put this back in your dirty, old grease. I wanted my money back soo bad. My husband said we now know where to NEVER come when visiting here. Oh yes, I forgot to mention, our server brought our drinks ( sweet tea ), supposedly. After taking the lid off, I saw something white floating in it. 🤯 Too many RED flags going on here!!! I asked him if he could take me and my grandson's meals and drinks off the ticket. My husband then said let's go. The server didn't even bother to advise the Mgr of the issue. But what did I expect. Read moreI tried to honor my wife's memory who I just recently lost to come to this restaurant and enjoy a meal The website said that they would be open an hour and a hour and 1/2 after I got here plenty of time to eat even for a big old boy like me. I passed the blocks of well known beautiful restaurants that have wonderful pricing To be told that they were closed Ten minutes after I got there I decided to take a couple of meal boxes to go At $11 a pound that gets expensive. When I went to the line they refused to cook a steak for me but cooked one for another gentleman When I asked to speak to a manager I was sent the hostess The rest of them were too busy cleaning to get out obviously early I was told that the manager herself spoke no English This is an atrocity this is America, English is our primary language I am 59 years old I do not mix my words I will never enter a Golden Corral in the United States again Had they given me the food that I picked out I might have but they're unwillingness to even communicate with me is totally unacceptable Golden Corral you are outdated Your time has come You need to close your doors permanently When a customer cannot get weighted on and dealt with this is unacceptable American practices. I would be curious how many of those are even us citizens. Don't bother with a response as your company doesn't have a right in my honor to communicate with integrity.
