I was so excited to try this restaurant. Love sourdough bread and pickles! I read about them in an article and was happy I had the time to finally try them. Unfortunately, the whole order was a disaster.
I placed an order online and came to pick it up. Upon pick up, the employee said they didn't have part of my order, so I could substitute for something else. That's fine, but it should be of equal value. What I was offered wasn't and was of less value. I had to ask her to check the prices. She had first said my subbed item was more than what I was originally wanting, but I knew it wasn't. She seemed a bit surprised and had to get the manager to adjust. Strike 1 - I would have paid more for an item than it actually cost.
I leave, go to the park down the street and my order is missing two items. Had to call and get them to refund me and the gentleman on the phone said he just adjusted my ticket. I said "I know, but I'm missing two items." To the credit of the gentleman on the phone, he was very kind and apologetic and he did refund me. I understand things happen. Strike 2 - missing two items.
I go to eat my sandwich (The Original) and open it up. It's missing the smoked cheddar cheese (photo attached). I added cream cheese, paying extra, not subbing for a different cheese. Definitely the thing that made me sigh. Cannot even get their Original sandwich correct? Strike 3 - not including ingredients that are supposed to be included (not added or subbed).
Seems staff are extremely careless about the orders and are not double checking or ensuring they are reading and creating orders correctly. The atmosphere inside was dark and kind of dreary.
Sourdough bread was soft, kind of doggy, oddly. Ingredients of sandwich seemed fresh though. Pickles were soggy and soft. Personally, not a fan of the oregano on the pickle, but everyone's taste is different.
Disappointing experience all around. Check your orders and ensure everything is included - even the cheese in your sandwich. Drove quite a ways out to try them and it...
Read moreNEVER COMING BACK TO THIS BUSINESS!!! Came here last week! Worst place to ever spend money at. Everything is overpriced...They hire underage kids and take advantage of them. One employee even said their checks are always at least a week late and on top of that checks sometimes bounce and that their boss never pays for the returned check fees. Last I checked it is illegal for businesses to issue a bad check.....Atmosphere is so sad and dark. No one is happy to be there...on top of that all these kids have no clue what they are doing. It's like they applied got the job and got put to work basically trying to figure out everything on their own. Food takes too long and it is just messy like they rushed it just to say it made it to the table. The woman bossing people around and speaking to other customers with a nasty attitude which Im assuming is the manager walks around with white flakes all over her shirt which is not very sanitary at all because imagine that going to your food when they serve it or your drinks. This place needs a hard reality check because it clearly isn't giving good service or good food!!! Im so sad to even have wasted money on this place!!! I would rather go somewhere else for a cold sandwich and coffee. There are alot of other coffee shops and bakeries that deserve the support..which is also cheaper and taste better with amazing...
Read moreThe Sour Boule is a cute place with a selection of breads, bagels, pastries and more. I was excited to try this place out, and when we arrived it seemed like no one was interested in helping us. I stood as the front worker stocked the cookies back up instead of helping me. It was a little akward to say the least and eventually someone else came and helped us. We ordered some bagels, which didnt have the texture of a boiled bagel, but the flavor was great. I'd consider them more bagel-like. Still not bad.
Then i waited for two baked items that were in the case...and waited and waited. Then i asked once someone else was given their goods before me that arrived later if we could get our pastries. They forgot about us. This was my second time here and both times just waiting for them to finish whatever tasks theyre doing to be served.
Now lets move on the the pastries. The sprinkle cookie i gave to my son and he immediately spit it out thinking it was rancid. I tried a bite and did the same. It tasted like a heavy taste of clove or licorice in the cookie. It wasn't crunchy or soft, kind of like if you let a cookie set out over night that was once soft. The scone tasted wet and not cooked long enough. almost like a biscuit that was in a moist baggie for a few hours.
The bagel bread was good, but i wouldn't drive more than 5 mins to...
