Wish I could give it 4 but ever time I go to this store it's dark and the parking lot is not well lit. The last time some I suspected a homeless guy or maybe not was just standing next to the drive through staring at me. Normally I don't give rats A** but the lady with her kids behinds me were so nervous they drove off, and by the time I got to the window to complain he left. This is not a knock on the place per say just feel that the lighting would help. Now to the food, where do I start? This place as every other one I have or do visit are on point. This place is, if you never been just like el pollo loco was 20 years ago. I'm talking to you california transplant. Seriously it's good no mater what you get. I recommend if you have an army to feed to get the family style meal whole chicken or 2 with rice beans as sides. add extra order of rice and beans and tortilla.. so ever one gets plenty. Also don't forget the green sauce it's the best part. Seriously if your wanting to try something different or wanna cheep to go dinner for a netflix and chill pandemic style get this!
Also one last thing. Remember we all are in a very strange time in america. The people working here are risking alot so you can eat great food while staying safe. Plz know that cause of extra demand or maybe less foot traffic the food may not be ready as fast as it used to be. They could have difficulty keeping up supplies and run out of your favorite items, (remember April 2020 and the toilet paper scare) or have trouble finding people who can work and be short staffed. Thank you to the staff who always been professional and helpful.
Tip for saving time Call ahead or order online now to shorten...
Read moreI don’t usually write reviews but I feel like the person who is mananging this place is not doing a good job. I ordered at the drive thru two half chicken meals with two large big reds. At the speaker the woman didn’t seem like she got the order right. So when I pulled to the window I repeated it again to make sure she got it right. She then repeated back to me like she understood. Keep in mind as she is at the window there is rap music playing loudly in the back ground of the establishment so maybe it’s hard for her to hear. Well she came back with my meals but no large Big Reds. I asked her and she said she thought I said two large big rice which doesn’t make since. So she brought those drinks to me with very little ice not that it bothered me too much I just don’t understand how this isn’t noticed. So I drive home to find out there was one half chicken meal given to me, 2 small rice bowls, two large rice containers and one small bean. So we shared this meal since this location is not very close. I gave two stars because while the food is good the service is not it is actually rather frustrating. I have been here more than once and it always seems the service is not professional and misses the mark. Whoever thinks it’s professional to play loud rap music at a business where hearing is a big need to get orders right...
Read moreLet me start off by saying that I really enjoy Pollo Regio, maybe more than the average person. When I worked in Irving, I ate there at least once, (If not TWICE!) a week at the Belt Line Hwy. location. With that said, this Pollo Regio location has consistently disappointed, the last few visits. Tonight, I went through their drive thru, and ordered a half chicken and a baked potato with chicken. Fairly easy, right? I get home, and the chicken was fine, other than the fact that they didn’t include any salsa, especially the green. (That’s one of our favorite things.) The baked potato, on the other hand, was so below temperature, the butter wasn’t even melted, and my chicken was room temperature as well, easily prone to bacteria. The potato itself wouldn’t easily break, also. Top it off, no roasted jalapeño or green salsa with it. I will not be returning to this location again, which is a shame because we were so excited when they first showed up. Management could take some training at the Belt Line Hwy. or 28th Street locations to then in turn train their crew to get it right. There is nothing “Regio” about this store, it’s POOR AT BEST. We’re done with this...
