I recently visited a BBQ joint, and I wanted to share my thoughts about the experience. Overall, I'd give it a solid 4 stars, but there was one aspect that left me a tad disappointed.
First off, let me start with the positives. The atmosphere in this place was great. It had that classic BBQ joint vibe with lots of wood, rustic decorations, and the smell of smoked meats in the air. The ambiance was warm and welcoming, making it a perfect spot for a casual family meal.
Now, onto the highlight - the BBQ ribs. They looked absolutely delicious, with a perfect char and a glossy coat of sauce. However, when it came to taste, I must admit, I was a bit let down. The ribs were tender, no doubt about that, but they lacked the robust flavor that I typically associate with good BBQ. The sauce was on the sweeter side, which might appeal to some, but it overpowered the natural flavors of the meat.
Don't get me wrong, they weren't bad by any means, just not as flavorful as I'd hoped for. Perhaps a more balanced sauce or a stronger rub could have elevated the experience. It's important to note that taste preferences can vary greatly when it comes to BBQ, so others might enjoy the sweet and tender approach.
On the bright side, the service was friendly and attentive. Our server made sure we had everything we needed, and they even brought my kid some crayons to color on the paper tablecloth, which kept them entertained.
Despite the slightly underwhelming ribs, I'd still recommend this place for a BBQ outing. The overall experience, from the ambiance to the service, was quite pleasant, and who knows, you might find the ribs more to your liking than I did. I'll certainly be back to try some of their other dishes, and I'm hopeful that they might surprise me with a different...

The Good: The cook on the brisket was perfect. I have not had such a flavorful restaurant brisket in a long time. The creamed corn was also really delicious. The food is ordered at the counter and given to you right there, so there is no waiting like most restaurants. The only waiting will be in line before you get to the counter which was pretty quick.
The bad: This BBQ restaurant is just a bad concept in general. It is really more of a "store" than a restaurant. So when you go in there, don't expect it to be a regular restaurant. Nothing is served on plates, and everything is thrown into this awkward crate. Even though it might say on the menu how much something costs, the price might change because they will weight the meat and charge you more or less depending on the size. All the other meats I tried besides the brisket were just basic, with nothing unique about them. Besides the creamed corn, the sized were bad. The beans were too spicy, and not kid friendly. In fact there are no kid meals at all, so basically you are stuck portioning out to the kids. Don't expect fresh baked rolls either, they dont have those, just bread slices. There are no combos to make thing cheaper either, so expect to pay for everything you order from sides to drinks. Usually at other BBQ restaurants like Cousins or Spring creek it will cost around $40 for my family to eat and be stuffed. Here our bill was about $55 even after a military discount.
Overall: 3 out of 5 stars due to all of the inconveniences and price of this concept. You can definately get better barbeque and a better bang for your...
Read moreUpdate: after emailing with Lauren, who may be the owner, Iâm not sure⊠We received a refund for the ribs. I greatly appreciate it and that is how you maintain customers. I will come back when Iâm in the area again.
Watch and confirm the weight of the food you get in the drive thru, I was overcharged greatly!! The 2nd pic is a video that actually shows what the ribs looked like. I placed an order here, specifically mentioned that I was from out of state and came to Rudyâs for their food. I asked for 8 baby back ribs and was charged $72.46 for 4.030 lbs of ribs, I had to ask to confirm it was the right price and was told yes. I put the food in an insulated bag and drove around 7.5 hours home only to weigh the ribs and see they were definitely NOT 4 lbs, not even 1.5 lbs. The day prior I went to the same Rudyâs and ordered my daughter a 1/2 lb of baby backs (3-4 ribs, weighing .790, and only paid $14.20, so you do the math). I called today to notify the manager to let him know I was probably taken for around $30-$40, he accepted no accountability, of course thereâs not a lot you can do at this point, but if you work with food quantities on a daily basis, youâd know thereâs no way 8 single baby backs weigh 4lbs, thatâs not even a full slab. People work too hard for their money to be cheated. I normally donât leave reviews but this bothers me. Had I actually received 4 lbs of ribs, I would have been...
