Star Cafe and Cocktails — Restaurant in Fort Worth

We stopped in here for a drink and snack whilst we were exploring the Stockyards area. We sat at the bar and ordered a beer for my partner and I had the TX Peaches. The cocktail was nice but it was a little too sweet for me (personal preference more than there being anything wrong with the drink).

We ordered a chicken fried chicken sandwich to share. The food arrived quickly and the sandwich was delicious! We both agreed it was probably the best fried chicken sandwich either of us had ever had. The chicken was juicy and the batter had so much flavour. The fries were tasty but could have been cooked for a little bit longer.

Also want to shout out our bartender (whose name I didn’t get so very sorry). He was so friendly and was giving us lots of recommendations for things to do in the area.

The reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 is the bathroom situation. The ladies room was not very nice and you aren’t able to put toilet paper in the toilet itself (there is a sign specifically saying this) and I found the whole experience a bit unpleasant. I understand their piping is old but having to put your used toilet paper into a bin (where other people have also put their used paper) was just not nice.

Had dinner here with friends and decided to order a margarita. They don’t have a cocktail/ drink menu so I decided to ask for a margarita. I ordered 1 and by the time my meal arrived, I was about 75% done with that one so I decided to ask for another one. I noticed that the server was a little worried that I might be intoxicated, I didn’t think too much of it just thought she was being precautionary. When we got the bill back, I noticed that I was charged for a double shot for each margarita. That and the fact that I received top shelf liquor that I did not ask for brought my margaritas to $18 apiece. Aside from the surprise cost of that, this is a large liability, and is dangerous to do. I am obviously very glad I was not driving,. Any patron should consent to the amount of alcohol that they are consuming, not only for cost reasons, but for liability/safety reasons. I hope they see this review and are able to train their stuff to make better decisions.

Also, this establishment charges a fee of around 5% that there is no explanation for on the bill. It does not seem to be a tax nor a gratuity...

visited 10/11/24. our group walked in & was immediately greeted by profanity from the bartender Gillian for no reason. she screamed that bathrooms weren’t for the public even though we were at the bar to buy drinks and hangout. when trying to order she took everyone’s order but ours. we finally got our order in after being served last (we still tipped which is regretful) and tried to be friendly despite her attitude and she replied with more profanity about now having to make 8 green tea shots. so first she’s mad we walked in and presumed we wouldn’t order? then she’s mad we order? we shrugged it off and danced as we were celebrating a bachelorette party only to receive glares. when we decided to leave she followed behind us with middle fingers to the air, and guess what, more profanity.

she made a cute bar really unenjoyable. not sure what miss blondies issue was. wouldn’t be surprised if she’s treated other customers like this as she had a problem with us for absolutely no reason. I would spend your money somewhere else! or at the very least steer...
